All time fav: Maynard and Sauer, cuz they helped take us to the SB and I'm an old fart
    Modern era: Chrebet and Johnson

  2. Yeah you gotta include Maynard and Sauer in any WR conversation in jets history.

My all time favorite Jets WR is Rob Moore..so Mathis, Burkett or any of the moore pairings is my fav.

Key and Chrebet were the best duo, not the most talented but they complimented eachother well and had the most success. I think if Santonio and Edwards remain here they can eclipse those 2.

Toon is one of my all time favorites and Wesley was a great deep threat Wesley was nearing the end of his career as Toon was developing so I would rate them 3rd.

I never saw them pay but from all I have read and heard Maynard and sauer would be the best duo we have ever had.

Voted Key and Chrebet but how about Barkum/Walker? Barkum/Caster?

Toon and Walker unfortunately did not play together as much as I had wished. They seemed to be alternating time on the bench due to injuries. But they did play enough to either win or tie this with Sauer and Maynard. WHo after all won a Super Bowl.

Holmes and Edwards have just not had much time together to say. Plus they are playing with a still very much developing Qb in his second year.

Having said that, if the FO keeps both these guys, they have the potential to be the best tandem ever. Depending.

    Heh.

Rob Moore and Al Toon would have been a great combination.

Sauer and Maynard absolutely should have been included. If you wanted to go even further back you could have included Powell and Maynard.

I chose Toon and Walker, tough choice over Keyshawn and Chrebet. I've had all of their jerseys at one point or another, wore my white Chrebet on Saturday night.

So the person throwing the rock has nothing to do with it.......?

no question toon/walker were better receivers. can u imagine the 98 version of VT chucking it to them.

My fave isn't on here - Moss, Coles and Chrebet. What a threesome.

I just went by the ability of the players themselves. To me Toon was a better version of Keyshawn, as much as I loved Keyshawn, and Walker was light years better than Wayne Chrebet.

without question. I loved it when KJ and Chrebet were together, but Toon and Walker were better.

Btw to the OP it is tandem, not tamdum. Heh. Tandum is, uh, dumb.

Agreed, my favorite trio by far as an adult.

With that said, barring injruies, Toon & Walker were the best.

^I was too young for them. This trio we have here has so much potential, if only Cotchery can get back to what he was. I think he'll have a bounce back year next year and maybe even a big playoff game - he kills the Pats.

I'm not sure Toon was better than Key and Walker was a completely different player than Wayne. Walker was the deep threat w/ questionable hands, Wayne was the rock solid 3rd down guy.

I haven't seen a better single season duo than key and wayne in '98 and again Wesley was towards the end of his career when Al became a really good player.

For people hooked on numbers, take into account the 80s Jets had Mickey Shuler at TE who caught a lot of balls, also the changes in the rules of the passing game between the eras.

To me the QB thing is a wash, Keyshawn and Chrebet had Vinny in his best year, 1998, but the rest of the time had O'Donnell, Reich, Foley, Mirer and Lucus, plus Tupa for the one game. Toon and Walker had mostly O'Brien and Ryan, neither nearly as good as Vinny but better than all the other guys mentioned.

    O'Brien '85 and half of '86 was on a level w/ Vinny '98.
