I got high hopes for your infield, MB.

    Congrats on Albert Pujols.

Yeah, it's good. I don't love his outfield, though. Some old guys, some injury-prone guys.

I don't have high hopes for Jon Rauch. I wouldn't have him on a roster in a 12-team league let alone a 10-team one. If holds is a category in MBGreen's league, then it is a different story. He would be worth keeping then.

haha..thanks. I felt dirty taking ARod....but there's money involved here. I'm hoping Stephen Drew was worth it.

Yeah, I was iffy on Ordonez...but the guy is pretty consistent at the plate. I just hope his fractured ankle won't be a problem this year. If it is, I'll put in Snider, who I think will have a breakout year this year.

Rauch was named the Jays' closer....why not take a chance on him. He's not a starter on my team, but he's decent depth.

    thanks for the feedback, guys.

I think he's a safe bet for decent numbers. Batted .272 last season (down from .278 in '09), and played in 16 more games last season.

In honor of TGG, I made my fantasy team name Waitasekent!. My draft is Sunday, I'll post my team then.

How some of you have A-Rod and Pujols on the same team is crazy. Like Jake, how do you have a team as stacked as that? I pray to God my league gets 12 teams so it's not stacked.

I was not aware of that. I have to get with it now. Rauch is obviously a good guy to have on your team.

My league filled today. Vorrecht (formerly ABinx56) is the only TGG member in it (two TGGers were removed due to inactivity and one quit for greener pastures).

Crazy thing is, this is year 3 of a keeper league. Inaguaral draft, buddy took Hanley Ramirez #1 overall, I took Pujols #2. We still chirp him.... I got A-Rod in round 8 in 2009 when he was to miss the first month with the hip thing and I've kept him since. Cliff Lee was a keeper from last year, he too, fell because he was on the DL to start the year. We have 10 teams and they are all pretty even with about 3-5 "elite" guys per; but new productive players pop up all the time it seems.

Glad you like my squad though, Josh Johnson was my first pick this year. Vic Martinez round 2, then I just went BPA.

Ah, it being a keeper league makes more sense to me now. Good choice with Josh Johnson on the 1st pick, I was thinking of going that route.

    -----------------------------------------

My problem every season I play is drafting RP. I have to know how to take a gamble, and not draft based on names only.

Not sure what RP means here. Do you mean role players? I actually went on name recognition in the late rounds this year (Manny, Soriano, Hunter, Quentin, etc.).... We'll see how it goes.

My draft strategy this year was to have a consistent producer at each starting spot. Last year I had major holes at SS (Juan Uribe) and C (Yadier Molina). I'd say Jeter and V-Mart are upgrades.... Those spots killed me.

Relief Pitcher, but role player works too (more likely referred as Utility players, but all in the same). Uribe actually helped me out a lot in the later months of last season and into/during the playoffs.

Gotcha. I thought that at first but second-guessed.... Are closers that hard to find in a fantasy league, though? There's probably 10-12 reliable closers in the majors. I might be in the wrong here since I've had Mo for two seasons and Heath Bell for one.

I have the 4th pick in my draft tomorrow night. Who should I be looking at, at 4 and then at 17?

4th pick - Carlos Gonzalez (Rockies), Miguel Cabrera (Tigers), Troy Tulowitzki (Rockies)

17th pick - Carl Crawford (R.Sox), Josh Hamilton (Rangers), Adrian Gonzalez (R.Sox)

Those were the players that were taken in the vicinity of the 4th and 17th pick in our draft this past Tues.

I decided I will take Tulo tonight at 4. Shortstop is so much weaker than 2B, so that has loomed large in my decision.

I've got my big draft tonight, 15 teams 25 man rosters. I have the 2nd pick which I hate. I got burned on Hanley last year so I don't think I'm gonna take him. I'm gonna pass on Tulo because I think I can get Alexi Ramirez in the 4th round. Even though it could be a reach Carlos Gonzalez is the guy I've felt all along that I was going to take although I've flirted with the idea of Ryan Braun. I just love the 5 tool aspect of CarGo. Miguel Cabrera could be a possibility as well but I've got CarGo on my keeper roster... fleeced this guy to get him too.

    I don't follow.

You have a draft tonight and you are hoping to draft Carlos Gonzalez, but then you wrote you already have him on your roster.

Two different leagues, one is a keeper league but this is the big one for my group of people. There are some crossovers to the keeper but this is the most competitive league I have ever been in.

My plan is to go CarGo, then Ryan Zimmerman and Shin Soo Choo with pick #2, #28 and 31

I would draft Troy Tulowitzki over Gonzalez. I betcha Gonzalez's numbers will go down across the board this year. I drafted him in a couple leagues last year and I drafted both Tulowitzki and Gonzalez in one league. They helped me get to the championship matchup which I "lost" 5-5.

This year I am only in two leagues. One is a 3rd year keeper league which I just joined 9 days ago. All the teams had to keep 17 players so Gonzalez was not available to me in the 8-round draft on Sunday.

My other league is a first year keeper league with an auction. Gonzalez was out of my price range.

I went Miguel Cabrera, he seems to be as sure of a thing as Pujols. If not for a great September Tulowitzki had a so/so year. 15 HRs in one month will certainly inflate your stats. Don't get me wrong he's a stud but I elected to go a safer route.

Now my team seems like a DL list waiting to happen...

    Anyway I ended up with

    Pitchers
    Marcum
    Latos
    Bumgarner
    Buchholz
    Lilly
    Stauffer
    Chapman
    Putz
    Kenley Jansen

    C- Montero
    1b- Cabrera
    2B - Pedroia
    SS - Reyes
    3B - Pedro Alvarez
    OF - Stanton
    OF- Stubbs
    OF - Tabata
    Util - Tyler Colvin
    Util - Reid Brignac
    Bench - Desmond Jennings
    Bench - David Freese

Waiver in on Matt Joyce to drop Jennings who was optioned.
Also because Latos is on DL put in waiver on injured but heopfully ready to go by weekend Franklin Guitierez.

My pitching looks outstanding but I am going to have a serious power outage if Stanton and Alvarez don't deliver.

^Of those players, Alvarez is the only one I have on either of my teams.

Not that that is good or bad, just posting a fact.
