Any good feelings about this year was destroyed today by how sloppy this game was and how horrible Bowles coached.
Who the fuck is happy about, having the chance to make the playoffs and choking miserably? You have got to be kidding me
Look at the difference in our roster Thai year compared to last year. We were EXPECTING to improve a lot. Can't lose sight that we all wanted the playoffs.
I thought they'd have a good chance going in also but after the Texans, assuming they saw them, all the other games would have been in the winter conditions and without a solid running game they were going to get beat by somebody. It's too bad the backs were hurting the way they were at the end. Maybe the Jets really should draft a RB or two late to be their gunners on special teams. At least that way you've got people to play for you when the main guys are banged up and without having to make roster moves all over the place to do it.
I agree. I think Fitzpatrick having the best year of his career had more to do with having two top notch receivers than him being good. I think with a better QB, the Jets win at least 13 games with the easy schedule they had this year.
BINGO. edit: Just to elaborate on this point, this team was built with veterans to be a win-now team. The chances of Fitz duplicating this season are very low. The chances of us being as (relatively) healthy as we were this season again are very low. The chances of us having a schedule as soft as this one again next year are essentially zero (unless some incredible changes occur over the next 6 months)
This is probably true but QB's better than Fitzpatrick don't grow on trees for easy picking. The Jets certainly didn't have one on the roster this season.
You can make fun of me all you want. I never said anything about Geno. The bottom line is this season was a failure.
Agreed. Although not having QBs better than Fitzpatrick is why the Jets are never contenders for any extended period of time.
