It's a big deal because it shows a bit of a nasty side/mean streak our OL hasn't had for the last few years.
I'd probably be more hyped about it if I didn't see him get pushed back on a couple of plays. Two against one isn't a big deal to me. I want to see him dominate when it's one on one. BTW that 'attitude' needs to rub off on D'Brick. He still run blocks like a little girl.
What do you mean he got pushed back a little? The starting o-line has looked very good in the limited action we've seen so far. I really don't see how people can complain about it. When linemen pass block they get pushed back a little every time.
There was one pass play that he got knocked backwards on. Favre got rid of the ball, but it's just the fact that he got controlled. There was also a running play, not sure if he was trying to sweep to the right or anything, but he got pushed back and into the running back (I think Washington), who had to bounce it outside. Who's "complaining"? I'm just watching the games with my eyes open. I'm not going to fall head over heels over tiny things and think that the line is better than it is. It's improved, but it's far from perfect. Who are you again, before you changed your name to Broadway Brett?
If you watch that block again Faneca doesn't just knock down Taylor he first picks off the DT and steers him into Mangold then plants Taylor on his ass. That's absolutely perfect.
