I think it could be good momentum to close out the season strong. Something for Douglas, Gase & Williams to build on. Either way there will be a lot of changes to the roster especially o-line & CB.
At 0-3 it's not too late to make a season out of what so far has been a disaster. Philadelphia looks beatable this year and Miami hung in there for a bit at Dallas so the Jets should be able to do the same at Metlife if they have all their guns. Gase needs wins badly the guy has looked like a joke so far.
As I was pondering things yesterday it also hit me WOW!! When the Jets drafted Darnold last year the Jets were NOT supposed to be in this position again and certainly not this soon after he was drafted. I can't believe we're in this mess again. Yes Sam Darnold NEEDS to come back asap. Part of being a "franchise quarterback" is staying in the lineup.
No we haven't. Not really. We've proven that we suck consistently, but only once - I think anyway - have we managed to out suck every one else. Let's face it, the Jets even suck at sucking.
Darnold will be back for the Eagles game. They would not have cut Fales if they weren’t sure of that
I already posted the WebMD article advising how to proceed when Mono patient is involved in a contact sport. After the first 21 days, it's extremely unlikely to hurt your spleen. This means he can safely see the field in October. Calling him to sit out the rest of the Season is ridiculous...he played well , sickly, against a very good Bills defense and survived even with that punk OL If Sam D was the first kid ever to play football and also have a bout of Mono I would be very worried. But not the case here. Kid prob has round the clock medical care right now And yes, you are right the OL has to protect him from ANY injury and the play calling needs improvements
I cant agree more----I know medicine has come a long way in 30 years as I had mono when I was 22 and all I can say is that = I had a pretty mild case and was messed up for quite a while. I was weak, lost 20 pounds and I was told no sports for a while ( to be honest I had no energy to play any sports ) and I was not feeling right for months
Gase has to decide which is more important: Gase's career or Sam's life. Sounds like the decision has been made!
I think the NE Monday night game or JAX seems more realistic. Not only does he need his spleen to shrink but he needs to gain back his energy and conditioning along with any weight loss. I would be really concerned about the motives of the CS if they rush him back against the Eagles. They should be playing it safe looking at his long term future and protecting him. Not worrying about short term gains.
Hey buster....nobody can out-suck the Jets. If there is one constant across the 30 years I have been a fan....that's it.
See my posts calling for a midseason firing around Thanksgiving if things are still terrible when Darnold returns.
