i think that you have to atleast bring him for a look he still has game left and we need a NT lets sign him.
I wanted the Jets to sign him before the Falcons picked him up in 2006 and caught a lot of shit from people on here. Bring him in and see what he has to offer.
I would take a 350 lbs undrafted FA... Nevermind a 350 lbs proven starter.... If we could bring him in, he could conceivably be in the lineup within 2 or 3 weeks..... Might give us a chance to see Vilma succeed for half a season in the 3-4...
How many potential nose tackles EVER get dropped midseason in the NFL when what you need is a nose tackle? One a decade?
i said no bc this season is already lost and i want us to draft someone, u build through the draft and signing grady jackson is a short term solution for a long term problem, although i do agree with whoever said it will help us find out more about 3-4 vilma
That's why you sign him.... Put him in there as a one-year stop gap, and allow the other players (namely the LBs) to make a little bit of progress in a REAL 3-4 defense... Then you go out and draft someone or pick up a younger player, and keep this guy on as a mentor and as part of the DT rotation.... I don't think it could hurt, at all
Yeah, unless there is a huge hidden pitfall to Grady Jackson (and there may be) then it's a relatively painless thing to pick him up and try to plug him in. D-Rob is already getting replaced at NT in numerous sets and shifted to RDE in some of them, so it's not like you're damaging him with the move. He knows he's a bad NT, and he's probably hoping that the Jets find somebody to play the position so he doesn't keep getting whacked around the way he is now.
I think the "pitfall" with Jackson is really just a conflict with the club.... He wasn't performing poorly, but he's an older guy, who obviously had the law suit with the team, and they're not winning many games... They're trying to move in a new direction, and this is probably a big part of it.... Seems to me that any issue with his is strictly with Atlanta..... There could be more to it, but this is what it seems like

This fat bastard was cut from the Falcons. Now I am not outright saying to f-him, I just can not think how he is going to help the Jets. He may be done, he may not be. I do know the Jets desperately need an NT. Grady Jackson............. I do not know. Strange decision. Maybe we can pay him in cheeseburgers.
