Football is 95% Baseball is 5%

I think a lot of it does come from the Stadium thing, Jets & Mets at Shea and Yankees Giants at Yankee Stadium, plus Jets and Mets rhyme and for some people that may be a reason to feel the two go together. I'm a Jets-Mets fan for I always felt the two were linked, and Giants-Yankees were the other NY teams you hated. I also love the Knicks even though Nets rhymes with Jets and Mets, but they are Jersey. The Knicks were also Blue & Orange like the Mets so I ended up a Knicks fan. I was an Islanders fan for a bit also due to the team colors Blue & Orange, then they changed to that ugly uni in the early 90's remember? with the Islander fisherman guy on it? So I started rooting for the Pitt Penguins, Super Mario & Jagr! I'm from the poconos so I had to root atleast 1 PA team on. Jets-Mets-Knicks-Penguins!
Explained very well. One small tidbit some people may not be aware of.....The Mets got their colors from a combination of the Dodgers/Giants...........Blue and Orange.
Mets Jets Islanders Knicks -- so in a way I have not seen a Championship since 86 will pull for the Rags and the Giants but would cut off my balls before I root for the Yankees Go Giants
Ties in with the celebrity Jets fan thread, but Billy Crystal is another crossover fan. Jets/Yankees James Gandolfini may be another, he's a Jets fan and has been seen in Steinbrenners box watching Yankee games on occasion.
Another good myth to dispel "Most Jets fans are from out on Long Island" A majority of them live in NJ now.
That's Now!! I still bet the majority of Football fans on Long Island are Jet Fans. NJ is still Giants Country, for the most part.

Jets/Yanks Jets because my dad is a Jets fan Yanks because Donnie Baseball was my favorite player growing up
The Jets and Mets not only rhyme but the two teams both started out around the same time, early 60's, and they played at the same stadium, I say there are more Jets-Mets fans then Yanks-Jets but i may be wrong, someone should start a poll on here just to see.
Poll: What's your allegiance? This poll was originally suppose to go with my other thread "dispelling the myth", but after a few screw ups in making a poll, I'll try once again. My last thread though, did dispell the myth. It showed that there was more or less an equal number of Jets/yanks, and Jets/Mets. Let's see if this poll shows the same thing.
Jets/Mets. The age/location battle doesn't fit me, I just rooted for whoever my dad rooted for. He was raised in the Bronx. I could have been a winner.... Go figure.
