Sorry, I misunderstood what you were asking. I remember reading/hearing last year that Gase didn't like Anderson and didn't want him. I don't remember where I read/heard it, but specifically remember it. I think it may have even been quoted here by someone.
While I would love to sign WR- C. Samuel and I think any other year we likely would be the team to sign him, I think it's all but locked up he signs with Jacksonville. Urban Meyer was his college coach. They need WR's as much as we do. I'd be STUNNED if he isn't a Jaguar. Just sayin'
They also have Chark and as Koppa said Shenault. They're probably a bigger candidate for someone like Hunter Henry.
Jonnu is really talented...played on a low volume passing offense but made big plays when his number was called. Also like Corey Davis for similar reasons.
Besides for how impressive the whole chart is, the thing that stood out to me is how incredibly pessimistic he is about the Dolphins' current roster. Wow
I heard Samuel fits LaFleur's offense really well. Anyone know which other free agents will fit it well and why that is?
Why? He's a rising star and is an excellent blocker, and WRs in this offense need to be good blockers.
Personally while Herndon looked like ass last year, I feel as the entire team was not good. In the new offensive scheme I think we will see a lot more of Herndon. Mims was hurt and then when he came back wasnt a world beater. That has more to do with play calling, Sam, and the O-line than him. My issue is what if he gets hurt again, then we are down to lets say Corey Davis (if we sign him) and Crowder. We have no depth at that position at all, hence why I would rather sign 2 then signing only 1 and Smith
Because I don't think he has done enough to warrant a large contract and I'd rather take Samual. People told me last year that a WR that hasn't had a 1000 yard season is useless and goodbye Robby the one-trick pony. Davis hasn't had one of those either.
Hopefully, Herndon will rebound, but we cannot count on him. His turnaround at the end of the year was too little, too late. He could just as easily revert back to poor play. Mims had missed most (all?) of TC. There was no preseason, and he missed the first several games. He was very good when Flacco played. Sam couldn't find his own ass with a telescope. Mims was often open. I'd love for JD to sign 2 WRs in FA or sign one and draft one high, but I'd be surprised, if not shocked if he did. I agree that we need depth in a big way, and that should take priority over the defense. If the new QB fails because he had crap in terms of the skill position players around him, it won't matter what the D can or can't do.
