Looking like O-line, pass rusher in FA...CB/RB up in the air, and WR probably look to the draft Golladay and Samuel are free agents though so who knows
It happens every year. People hype up the blue chip FAs and then they all get tagged. At some point we realize that Lucy is really not going to hold that football for Charlie Brown. While it was expected that Robinson and Goodwin would get tagged , it is shocking that Golladay did not get tagged. There are a lot more blue chippers out there this year. It is a shame Carolina tagged Morton.
I know it was a pipe dream but it still hurts. I’ll try to get excited about will fuller v and pretend he won’t be in the bike with a hammy all of august
Teams typically don't allow blue chip talent to hit the open market. We must draft and develop it or we'll do this every year.
I'll say it again and I don't really want Robinson, but the NFLPA needs to grab their sack and urge the next CBA to get rid of the franchise tag. It does nothing good for either side. The player doesn't want to sign it, the franchise doesn't want to pony up the money OR trade the player. Get rid of it. If NFL players had a longer career lifespan it'd be less of an issue to sign a one year tender for massive money. But they're not and the age decline is real at every position that's not quarterback and some offensive lineman and anecdotal examples for other positions. They want nothing to do with it.
5 sacks in one game will definitely hurt him along with playing in a heavy blitzing defense where he had some free runner sacks.
Luckily there's still some really talented receivers hitting FA this year besides A-Rob. Really hoping the Jets go after Jonnu Smith + Curtis Samuel or Corey Davis. I'd also love to throw a dart at Sammy Watkins ONLY IF it's at the right price tag. I'm anticipating a heavy dose of IOL and edge help in FA with WR and CB being addressed in the draft this year.
A haul of Thuney, Samuel, and Hendrickson would be nice. With one Richard Sherman on the side as a veteran presence for the CB room. These moves wouldn't stop us from grabbing an OL, WR, and CB in the draft as long term answers.
Diligently awaiting Robinson's agent tweeting to blast the Bears FO. Except that dumb shit only happens to the Jets.
As he should be. Every single WR that has produced at the NFL level should be considered. This team has two NFL caliber receivers and one mediocre to below-average TE (granted Herndon still has upside IMO) on their team.
I would like to see Samuel and Davis instead of Jonnu Smith. We have no idea if Mimms is gonna be that true #1 yet. I would also, like to see Lawson or Reddick as well....
