jets81, thank you for the outstanding effort to write this and then update it. just curious what the 81 stands for. jc? or the first year you ripped your heart out rooting for the j-e-t-s jets jets jets!
Actually 81 is my birth year. No other meaning besides that, and definitely not in support of Justin McCareins. Glad you like the list, btw.
Courtesy of THEFOOTBALLEXPERTS.COM..... Chris Canty- RFA- Being a DE in a 3-4 alignment doesn’t do much for statistical output. But at 6-7, 299 pounds and only 25 years old with three years of NFL service under his belt, Canty will draw attention from interested clubs because of his as yet untapped potential. 43 Tackles and 3.5 Sacks for 2007. Aside from the potential cost of signing an RFA, he looks promising on paper.
I know alot of Cowboy fans and they don't shut up about Canty. I've seen him play and i understand why.. The guy is what you look for in your 3-4 DE. He is way better than Coleman is or will ever be.
We have O-linemen, LB's, and WR's too, but it doesn't mean that they can't be upgraded! I don't expect the Jets to make a play on a FA QB at all, but it's a possibility so thats why they're there.
Is DE--Justin Smith of the Bengals a F/A this year? I dont think he is an allstar by any means, but he has some skill. Just a thought..
Justin Smith does appear to be a FA. Roto says that the Bengals are up in the air about whether they'll use the 3-4 or the 4-3 next season. It says that if they decide to run the 4-3 then they are likely to make it a priority to get him signed, which would lead me to believe that he might not be a good fit in the 3-4. He's also listed at 275 pounds...little on the light side no?
