I believe the points are probably fully legit, but what does anyone expect? No matter who is in the booth, YES is owned by Steinbrenner. Why would a station, owned by the team, showing the team play, give that team a bad image. Same for each player. I know there is supposed to be impartiality and all, but come on, that's just too much to expect from a station owned by the team.
And that's why, once again, it's being exposed as nothing more then a propaganda machine, a fluff network if you will... which speaks to my earlier point about people eating it up and regurgating it as facts.
I see your point, but it's the only place to watch the Yankees, so what does a fan do, you know? As for people eating it up, it's the same geniuses who started booing A-Rod in the first place, simply because Steve Phillips thought it would be a good idea to start tearing him apart after a couple of bad games. More than the whole "people who are Yankee fans since 98" I think there are too many baseball "fans" who discovered the game post-strike. They dilute the intelligence the traditional fan has about the game. Now it's like a freakin fashion show, where you have to worry about looking hot, before looking functional.
Yeah but to think all the boos, or even the majority of them, are coming from Geny Y'ers doesn't seem realistic to me. I'm guessing the demographic at the park is overwhelmingly 18-40. BTW think Philips sour grapes has anything to do with A-rod dissing him and going to Texas?
I don't think the majority of the boos are coming from the Gen Yers now. The thing is, the Gen Yers, IMO are the ones who started it. I might be wrong, but I don't think I am. I was actually talking about Phillips with a Met fan at work the other day about A-Rod. He agrees with me that Phillips has an agenda with A-Rod for getting snubbed. It's absolutely disgusting. The guy was a shitty GM, and ESPN handed him a job and he craps all over that too.
Of course the points in the story are legit, why would I care if they are or not? It's not like I don't know that fans boo A-Rod. Of course it's a propoganda machine, I've noted that twice in this thread already. Nobody's debating that--I'm just pointing out that the NY Post's TV coverage is a crappy source. Nothing more than that. The YES network's legitimacy (or lack thereof) really doesn't matter that much to me. And listen to Sterling and Waldman? Those idiots are what got this thread started in the first place!
Nah, they'd clash in about 20 minutes. Like Steiner, Singleton would want to have his opinion matter on the John Sterling show.
 Ain't that the truth! But I can't stand Singleton, so it's okay for him not to be on the radio. I would probably crash while listening to Sterling and Singleton in the car.
Kay is the worst, most sickening, jock-sniffing announcer the yankees have ever had. I imagine that someday soon he'll leave yes all together and just do that rancid radio show for espn. He has become as smug and obnoxious as fatcessa ever was with half the sports knowledge. Have you heard this Kay clown talk about football. Did you hear his week-long sky is falling speaches during the Herm exit? I cannot stand the sound or dight of this man for one more second. oh and to answer the thread-starter's question, waldman blows nutsack
I had to share this one. I was in the car when Abreu had his first at-bat. Sterling said he spoke to Abreu, and Abreu told him he was excited to be coming to the Yankees because he is looking forward to working with Mattingly to change his swing and stop hitting line drives. So I just walk in the door, and Kay says he spoke to Abreu, and Abreu told him that he is perfectly fine hitting line drives. So who is bullshitting? Or did neither of them even speak to Abreu yet? MORONS!
