Wrecks, Suckchez, tannenBum, etc. I sometimes strongly wonder if I am reading posts written by kids in middle and high school.
It is amazing but all Woody cares about is running a profitable business which is a shame for all Jets fans. I agree that he will feel the heat with the fan backlash as you said. Also wait until the cancelled PSL losses are tallied up. If things go south early next season, then it will get real ugly real fast for Woody and Rex.
Except, Does he know, that if he successfully builds a good team that wins, He'll get all the money from the game he could want
The people who want a clean house want the worst qb in the NFL, and the only person in the NFL that still thinks Sanchez belongs in the NFL fired as well.
Things are about as South as they can get RIGHT NOW ! The backlash has already begun just talk to your friends that have Jet season tix or just go read the threads on this site! As Jet fans we all want the team to do well and be succesful but when you look at the current state of the organization ,,,it's a mess ! I know the sunshiners don't like reading this stuff or hearing it but sometimes the truth hurts
List: 1) Former ST Westhoff ----> Golf and Beach 2) Former QB Coach Cavanaugh ----> Sent home packing 3) Former Head S&C Coach Bill Hughan ----> Canned 4) Former OC Sparano ----> Delayed departure 5) Former DC Pettine ----> Bills DC 6) Former Asst HC/LB Coach Bob Sutton ----> Chiefs DC 7) Former Asst DL Coach Anthony Weaver ----> Bills Who are the missing two? Tanny doesn't count... Or does he?
Ye thou walk through the valley of death. Excuse me could you walk through the Valley of death a little faster!
Those parking lot attendants better watch their asses, if we have a bad 2013 they are they only ones left for Rex to blame.
That is true but IMO that's not his main motivation. He didn't buy a football team to become wealthy, he bought it because A)he could and B)it's gives him an identity. Before owning the Jets he was really a nobody, now all sports fans in NY know who he is. He uses Rex as the head clown to grab lots of attention for the franchise, this leaves Woody in the background where he's happy to work behind the scenes. Things will change once the fans and media pull back the curtain and start attacking Woody. Right now it's still mostly Rex, but one more bad season and Woody will feel the wrath. Loss of PSL's is not something that Woody frets over, otherwise everyone would have been canned right now. He has lots of money. Did he earn it? Not really when compared to the average hard-working person, so it doesn't mean that much to him. What's important to Woody is his title, owner of the NY Jets. Once the media and fans start chipping away at him, Rex will be gone. Stick Woody in the clown car to kick off training camp. That should get the ball rolling next season.
Even the assistant DB coach Jim O'Neil left. He joined Pettine in Buffalo. Those two are close. O'Neil played HS ball at Pettine's school. Mike Sr. was HC there. Jets assistant DB coach Jim O'Neil joining Pettine with Bills, per @MMehtaNYDN. Dennis Thurman was Jets DB coach and likely next DC. http://twitter.com/ByTimGraham/status/289017349657477121
Cimini Coaches on the run: Rex Ryan has always talked about being surrounded by such a talented coaching staff. Don't look now, Rex, but your staff is half gone. All told, there have been eight changes since the end of the season, including three coordinators, three position coaches and two assistant position coaches. The key names: OC Tony Sparano and Matt Cavanaugh (QBs) were fired, Mike Westhoff (special teams) retired, DC Mike Pettine made a lateral move to the Bills, Bob Sutton (LBs) left to become the Chiefs' defensive coordinator and Jim O'Neil (assisant DBs) followed Pettine to Buffalo. There could be more changes once a new offensive coordinator is hired. The only curious move is Pettine; the others were either fired or left for better jobs. Once Sutton was passed over for the defensive-coordinator position -- secondary Dennis Thurman got the nod -- he started looking elsewhere. Let's not be naive here: The uncertainty surrounding the team also is a factor. As one league source told me, "It's not the most stable situation over there." It could impact the team in 2013, as the Jets will have at least two first-time coordinators -- Ben Kotwica, Westhoff's replacement, and Dennis Thurman, the expected choice to replace Pettine. For the first time in the Ryan era, "continuity" is a hollow word. http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/jets/post/_/id/20052/sunday-notes-a-mass-rex-odus "It's not the most stable situation over there".
How do you cancel a PSL? If that was possible you would probably have 50000 of them by now and if you stop making payments on them you will be sued. You can stop buying the tickets and then you forfeit them and get nothing or you can resell them on the open market and the current going price I hear is about 50% of what you paid for them. Anybody who bought a PSL should have seen this coming.
Two possibilities ... 1. Some guys know that Rex is likely gone after next season and are pursuing greater job security. 2. Not everyone grew up wanting to join the circus. I suspect that it's a little of both.
Once again the real problem will be trying to replace these guys. Nobody wants to be in the one and done mode so the best they can expect will be to hire guys who can't get jobs anywhere else.
