It's been a month. That's not a huge deal. Especially when you're essentially running a billion dollar business like this.

We're not the last team to hire a GM. The Browns still have not hired one (unless I am mistaken). Calm down.

I'm calm. It's not exactly reassuring news that we and the Browns are the only two teams in the NFL who don't have a GM. Last time I checked the Browns are an even more dysfunctional than the Jets.

Well, Bob, he's won a free all expense paid trip to ComplainFest 2013! That's right, now you can join thousands of other whiners and bitch nonstop until your heart is content! Just imagine how many people you can insult per hour and how many others will agree! Don't let positivity get in your way! Come to ComplainFest and let it all out. Is 24 hours in a day too long? Is it too short? Complain about it here! You will not be judged, even if you repeat the same statements over and over again ad nauseum! Negativity is encouraged, and even though it may be a sunny day, there WILL be clouds, guaranteed! Enjoy shitty cuisine at one of our many 1 star restaurants, where you can complain about the food as much as you want. We even have our own 'dig your own grave' contest and free suicide booth! Congrats!

The guy is just impatient. Dysfunctionality has nothing to do with it. GM is the most important position in the franchise. I have no problem with them taking their time and weighing all the options. The draft isn't until March and the off season hasn't even started yet. If it dragged on beyond the superbowl I'd be concerned, but 3 weeks is not a big deal.

OMG. The Bears didn't hire a GM until January 29th last year! They must be so dysfunctional! Nobody wanted that job!!!! It's a circus!!! Lovie Smith scared them all away!!!

See how stupid that shit is?

The Bears will be installing a new coaching staff this year after not making the playoffs. Another year wasted in their drive to a SB. Perhaps they should have started fresh a year ago.

Nice link by the way you missed this article in the link also published last year.

The Bears went 10-6 and missed the playoffs on tie breakers in a tough NFC, in a tough division, with a pretty tough schedule. You completely missed the point, which is that they waited until January 29th to hire a GM, which is more than 10 days from now and it didn't mean nobody wanted the job or that the coach scared GMs away / sky is falling nonsense. That article you quoted sounds just like the sensationalists vilifying Rex and whining as if the team is THAT bad. The problem with the Bears was more Mike Tice if you ask me. I didn't watch all that many Bears games, but the ones I saw the playcalling was terrible. I don't think Lovie should have been fired. And damn dude! I edited my post to make it much cooler since you quoted it haha.

You missed the point which was the Bears are now another year behind in their rebuild because they are going to be hiring a new coaching staff. They also thought they could solve their problems with a GM who was simply a good draft guy. They didn't want a strong GM.

The Bears were 7 and 1 and Smith was fired because they went 3 and 5 down the stretch including losses to their divisional rivals. The Bears absolutely got bitched against teams with any talent just like the Jets did.

And I don't agree with that decision. All I'm trying to say is waiting a few weeks to get a new GM isn't a big deal. If the Jets went 10-6 this year and just missed the playoffs on tie breakers, they wouldn't be cleaning house. So I guess every single year any team doesn't win the superbowl it's a waste of a year, right? Chicago is in a similar boat to us, they need offense. Their defense was absolutely sick, though. All good things take time. We're going into next year, pretty much knowing it will take at least a year to fix. I can't believe they gave Lovie the axe, though. Fuckin Tice just blows. He's like Sparano part 2.

Nice backpedal. You made it sound like the Bears were clean as a whistle even though they took too long to hire a GM. They just fucking fired their head coach.
