That Pete Carroll objection was some piece of work. Carroll and Sanchez's father had him going back..and Pete thought because dad was on board..he did not need to search for a qb...and ends up with a true freshman and no real chance for number 1 this year.

The kid has shocked me so far. Being a Jet fan for 40 years, you dream of a franchise..a true franchise qb. As surprised as I am with his early success...nothing this kid does from here on in will surprise me at all. He has shown way too much so far. Bumps in the road? I guess so. Just not sure where they can come from. Too much poise....throws well on the run...accurate..smart.

That last non pass with 2:30 to go was brilliant for so many reasons. The obvious is that he didnt throw the ball up for grabs. The brilliant part was scrambling...not throwing the ball away...and allowing the clock to keep running all the way down to the 2 minute warning because the Pats had no timeouts left. Im sure he was told to do that..but easier said then done for a rookie qb.

Could not agree more. Stuckey has filled the #2 void nicely and Cotchery is still getting open despite the presence of Coles. At this point I would not have WR as one of our top two needs.

O-line and D-line Starter/Depth are much more important. That and paying the players we have to resign. We are in a very good spot now but need to get key contracts taken care of before we think about any big additions. I feel the big outside freeagency times have come to an end and now you'll see more of the offseasons focused on our own players.

Oh and winston and Harp...you guys are dead on...Sanchez grabbed his helmet in disgust. That was a very poor pass. Stuckeys feet got tangled up by trying to turn his body around and jump at the same time. Stuckey has been great.

Exactly get the pass rusher and some OL depth. How many teams have two outstanding route runners with good hands, a fast big time threat at TE and a weapon like Leon out of the backfield? Add into that a mobil QB who can throw on the run and make big plays through improvisation. Weapons on O doesn't really seem like an area of need.

I could not agree more with this post. I also have been a closely folowing Jets' fan for 40 years. Sanchez certainly seems like the real deal ... finally. The best parts to me is that he wanted from the start to be a QB for the green and white, he seems to study hard, is incredibly poised for a young man, seems like a solid leader, has great football intelligence, and seems to be humble. The whole package.

Agreed. Even when interviewed he has kid written all over him...but has maturity well beyond his years.

The draft...his excitement when learning it was the Jets was genuine.
