I enjoy reading the back and forth here, I really do. But the reality is going to be that if Edwards accepts somewhere around $6 mil, since I think the Jet FO will be prepared to offer him that, the deal will get done. If for some reason despite the team stuff Edwards has been saying he thinks he can get closer to $8 mile from another team, he might be gone. It's all about the numbers.

And as much as I would want to have him back, I agree the logic of the numbers does not reach to the Jets offering close to $8 mil.

That's pretty much the bottom line and the end of teh analysis.

How can there even be Free Agency if a CBA is not agreed upon before the draft? Teams will be royally screwed over.

What's scary is that if the CBA isn't done before TC, you can see tons of FAs switching teams in the middle of July and having a month and a half to prepare for a sesaon. That's not good.

Teams that makeover their roster with new FAs this season are probably going to have a bad start in september. All the more reason to get this shit done.

Offense was so much better last season with Braylon. Sanchez had like 8 TD and 0 picks at this point last year.

Too bad Braylon is injured, you dickhead. That said, I do wish we would have worked something out with him, he's much better than Plax. Plax sucks some hard dick.

With Braylon, we could actually stretch the field. Every defense is now playing the whole defense up and not respecting the deep ball. The short slants and hook patterns are no longer there this year like they have been. I didnt mind the Plax signing at first but he seems to of lost a step and forgotten how to catch a ball this year. He was never the fastest guy but i dont remember him being as slow as he is this year when he was with Pittsburgh.

Getting Kerley on the field and benching Mason is a start. I always though that with Mason and Plax the Jets didn't have enough WR speed.

we're not using our wide receivers properly. plax is a guy that can snatch up jumpballs in 1 on 1 coverage. Santonio is fast enough to be a downfield threat (just not tall enough).he's definietely a better YAC receiver overall, but he can burn you deep too.

i haven't really seen any of either so far this year

how come we don't see more drag routes from holmes or even WR screens?

Braylon is definitely missed on this offense. I like what Plax has done but our offense does not have the same explosiveness.

I have no explanation to why I adamantly did not want Plax here before he was signed, and then have been defending him since he got here.

    I suck.

I haven't been pleased with Plax, but I would much rather have Braylon and Plax than Braylon and Mason.

Santana Moss would have been nice, but what we really needed was to keep Edawrds.

After we paid Santonio $10 million, I doubt Braylon's ego would have played for less than half of that across the field, since it would show where he stands on the pecking order.

But we do miss him. Plaxico has played kind of like I thought he'd play: a tall guy who can make a few plays with his size but would be inconsistent and rusty.

The problem is we lost Cotchery as well. Cotchery played an important role with the team, and he's gone.

No clue why Cotchery wanted to leave. He's now the 5th WR in Pittsburgh. Not sure why he'd want that.

So, Braylon being injured on the 49ers somehow dictates that he would have suffered the same injury had he been playing for the Jets? It's irrelevant to the discussion.

I started to come down from wanting Edwards above all else once his demands were established and some of the off the field disdain came to light, but this was easily predictable in the offseason. He had good chemistry with Sanchez on the field, and we're definitely hurt by his absence.

Braylon only signed a 1 year deal with SF.. plus he's hurt and not racking up big numbers. Definitely not unrealistic to think he can sign back here after the season.

That being said, it would probably take him putting his ego aside to make it happen.. and that's really not something Braylon Edwards has proven he's willing to do. The guy is a jackass.. you really can't blame the Jets for not wanting to commit to him long-term after last season with all his off the field problems. And that's coming from a guy who loved Braylon when he was here.. Even though he was criminally misused, but that's to be expected with Shittenheimer running the show.

and he still repeats the positive jet stuff.

I would take him back in second.

    We have no deep threat.

Ground 'N pound is back, thank God.
