Vick is 29 actually, not 31 Mick....at any rate it would have been a poor signing for the Jets

What does everybody think about the new announcing crew for Monday Night Football?

Mike Tirico is an excellent play by play man (he's been doing the Thursday night college football games for years now), so if you're going to replace Al Michaels, he's a good choice.

Gruden has a great sense of humor and obviously knows the game of football.

Gruden is good behind the mic, but he should be coaching.

He's the best QB in the game and of his generation coming off a season which he missed 15 of 16 games. It's a HUGE story.

Don, PETA has a lot less power than they think. I do not eat meat or wear leather, but think PETA is way out of line on this issue.

Vick did his time. They can protest all they want and will get thier organization good publicity out of it, but it will not matter a damn. 99.9% of football fans think they are fucking nuts anyway. Its not as if the NFL or Jets will lose any money over them.

I don't disagree..I hate PETA..all I am saying is there was no way Johnson would have taken a flyer on Vick and take a chance on what PETA might have done.

No, he is just the 2nd best Qb of his generation. Brady coming back after a season ending knee injury is big news, it is no great surprise that the networks are talking about it.

No, I didn't say best fantasy QB that always chokes when the games matter. I said best QB in the game and of his generation. Peyton isn't close to Brady.

And you aren't close to common sense. Manning > Brady all day long... I'm sure your retort will reference 3 Superbowls, but let's be honest, A. Supporting cast and B. The kicker won all three of NE Superbowls, not Brady.

Nope, but he didn't win 3 superbowls or throw 50 TD's in a season as well.

Its really a toss up between them at this point.

I agree Brady is phenominal, but I think the arguement tends to be more about the franchise and not the player. IMO, when you look at the player, Manning gets the nod. But, in true TGG fashion, we shall Poll it.

Manning's supporting cast on Offense has been MUCH better than Brady(outside of 2007) and the D's ahven't had as big of a gap as people think. I believe Indy's D has given up less than 2 PPG more than NE's.

Peyton has led his O to less than 14 PPG in their playoff losses, Peyton has held back the Colts. That team should have 2-3 Championships by now but thye have one- one that he was carried along for the ride in a spostseason where he threw 3 TDs and 7 INTs.

Manning has had Brady's K the last 3 years- how many SBs has he been in?

The two aren't close, Brady is light years ahead of manning. The first time Brady had wepaons comparable to Manning he broke the TD record, led his team to 16-0 and a SB app. Remember, NE was 5-11 in 2000 w/o Brady and started '01 0-2 w/o him. HE is the biggest reason for the NE dynasty and Manning has held back Indy w/ his awful postseason play.

Not even close. if you want to win fantasy championships Peyton is your man, if you want to win real championships Brady is your man. meaningless fantasy stats don't impress me especially when Peyton always chokes in January.

The Manning backers will always make excuses like the defense, the Running backs, the WRs, the OL, the K, the coaches, the time of the game,... but the bottom line is one guy gets it done when it matters and the other one doesn't. Imagine if peyton ahd to try and win playoff games w/ Troy Brown as his #1 WR and Antowain Smith as his RB.

Why does manning get the Nod? He played with more offensive talent around him untill the last few Years when the PAts finally gave Brady Moss and Welker. What happened then? He blew up and had amazing stats as well. Manning only gets the nod from many because He had the supporting cast longer on the offensive side of the ball.

Save it for the Peyton vs. Brady thread. This one is supposed to be about what a joke ESPN has become.

If I was good at the internet I would find a link, but does anyone remember Stuart Scott grabbing Ray Allen's jersey at center court to force an interview after Boston beat L.A. in the finals last year? Pathetic.
