I just hate him shrugging off the offense in game even though its preseason That type of attitude is the reason we've been going backwards All his focus on defense, not a single impact player drafted on offense Recipe for disaster
three of our top targets were drafted during rex's regime. our qb was drafted during rex, as well as geno smith. mcknight not an impact player? sure its special teams but he sure as hell would be snatched up by a lot of teams to return kicks for them. traded for holmes during his time. the flight boys... plaxico was brought in, played like shit but was supposed to be a big name upgrade... lt... brought in a vet in mason, etc.
2009- Sanchez/Greene/Slauson 2 trade ups for Sanchez and Greene where we could have stayed put but I digress 2010-2013 Rounds 1-3 where the top talents sits Kyle Wilson Vlad Ducasse Traded 3rd for Braylon then didn't re-sign him Muhammad Wilkerson Traded 2nd rounder for Antonio Cromartie Kendrick Ellis Quinton Coples Stephen Hill Demario Davis Dee Milliner Sheldon Richardson Geno Smith Brian Winters So in 5 drafts we've drafted 6 offensive players in the top 3 rounds(15 rounds) 2 QBs(1 bust) 2 OL(1 bust) 1 WR(raw) 1 RB(sucks) I understand taking pride in Defense but we've ignored the O too long
almost every single one of those players is a starter minus vlad, who cant seem to get over the language barrier but is far from the worst ol on the team. so what exactly is your point? should the team have ignored defense? or what is your angle here? depth has been a problem on offense, which got exposed last season. this season, it is nowhere near as big an issue. i dont see what the complaint is
I think we should put more emphasis on the offense The only things we've done to improve it is change the OC Pretty much giving a chef the same ingredients the last guy had hoping the meal comes out tasting better
This is why you are jumping the Shark. How can you possibly label Sanchez a bust? By your own post we have ignored the offense since 2009. Sanchez, with no support has more playoff wins than any Jets QB. One of the 5 fastest QB to thirty wins, and surrounded by a cast ofaging vets, and shit OCs. Yesterday, he makes a bonehead play, and still puts what, about 40 points on his career QBR, in thatgame. You love Geno, we get it. But Cmon man. How about we find out, (like Moore showed) what we really have. The only bust, was Schotty,Callahan, and Sparano. Patience, is a virtue.
If I put you in a kitchen, and then put Geoff Zakarian in the same kitchen, with the same basket, do you rhink you could produce the same meal.....? Thanks for making my point. Some guys, are short order cooks. Some, are Chefs. Big difference.
Here you go with this Look the FO didn't do a great job of putting help around him we all agree with that But he also didn't improve in his own right and is still making bone headed decisions It's 50/50 but at this point he's never going to live up to his draft position
Yeah.....no More like put 2 professional cooks in the kitchen and you'll get a better comparison But here's the thing Sanchez has already been put in oven and he's almost finished damn near ready to be served while Geno is still being seasoned and the cook is deciding what side dishes to make with him
Amazing technical analysis. Please share more. This really went off the deep end. Two idiots arguing about cooking.
Ryan needs to back to doing what he really wants to do: being a D coordinator. After this season he will get that chance. Hopefully on a team far far away
Yes, because Rex has the final and only say in who the starting QB is going to be. Oh wait.... that's not true. Try again sheep.
There's a huge difference between 'not calling plays' and completely abdicating any responsibility or interest in the other side of the ball when you're a head coach, especially when it's the other side of the ball that's costing you games. BB still picks the personnel for both sides of the ball so he's definitely involved, even if he isn't actually gameplanning. lol I don't hate Rex...but seriously, name a coach that was 'completely' one dimensional that won Super Bowls.
This is so freaking stupid. Today, Rex had a great line about that. http://www.nypost.com/p/blogs/jetsb...rception_u7Uw2ZkRHX0kWqJYw6aatN#ixzz2bhYnM3qi Exactly. Do you guys remember how often Mangini would say he had to go look at the tape for every little thing? If Rex says that instead of being honest, no one cares.
If the press knows what's good for them they'll lay off Rex. Otherwise he's just going to start giving them nothing, like every other coach. And then they'll have to work a lot harder.
This offense is going to fold like a deck of cards. I feel there isn't a defense in the league that fear anything the JETS do on offense. Outside of a couple lineman there isn't anyone worth getting excited about.
Rex handled this "controversy" really well. That's a great line and I think one press conference, Rex should go Bill B. on everyone and just give the boring lines to see the reaction
Who cares? It's the preseason and he's trying to fix our running D. Let him do what he does best. We have MM running the offense, let him deal with the turnover problem. If anyone can fix it, it's him. Besides Rex does review every play on tape. It's not like he just ignores it. I'm so sick of these analyst blowhards criticizing Rex for everything he does. If this were during the regular season, I might have concern, but I trust Rex is utilizing his strengths as a coach to get the team ready for the season. Rex's rebuttal was spot on. They really give the guy too much scrutiny.
Rex has been noticeably different in his press conferences this year. He's already dialed it back a lot.
