As a Pats fan who has seen the jets advance further than your team 2 of the last 3 seasons you don't buy that Bills nonsense do you? Yeah they will be better(it's hard not to be) but they still have a QB who has never played in a big game in his NFL life and a HC who has never won a playoff game.

Not to mention Mario is a tad overrated, good player but this is a man who has a grand total of 2 double digit sack seasons in his 6 year career and he's been talked about like he's Reggie White.

LOL. Ill believe it when I see it. As we stand now the Giants are the best team in the league and we are better than the Bills. Offseason acquisitions dont aways translate to the field (last year’s “dream team”). Im surprised Vince Young hasnt come out and proclaimed the Bills this year’s “dream team”, because they are getting as much hype as the Eagles did last season... and at least the Eagles deserved some of it.

Everyone is hating on the Jets. Its kind of funny. Well we all know the Jets thrive under it, so they can just keep writing and spewing out this bullshit "They've made a messy locker room situation that much messier.”- How do they know this? Do they honestly believe this? I would like them or anyone to name one FACT that supports this.

I just cant wait for all of this shit to end week 1.

  3. Newsflash:

Jets didn't NEED to make wholesale changes. They were 8-5 after 13 weeks...had a poor finish and were a dissapointing 8-8. That doesn't mean there was some major glitch in talent level. Meanwhile Buffalo had holes all over their roster. Not to mention...what depth does Buffalo have? Who are their sub formation pieces? They made strides in terms of their starting packages...but they have no depth to speak of. Buffalo had more room for change than did the Jets. Why should the Jets be penalized for that? Do they have a Jeremy Kerely,Joe Mcknight, Kenric Ellis, Mike Devito, Demario Davis, Aaron Maybin, Kyle Wilson, or even Eric Smith? Guys who may not be starters for one reason or another but fill game specfic roles?

Which leads into my next point.Ever heard of developing from within? Trusting in your players to take the next step? Players like Kyle Wilson,John Connor, Mo Wilkerson,Kenric Ellis,Joe Mcknight,Shonn Greene,Nick Ballore, Jeremy Kerley & Sanchez all have untapped potential ready to come to the forefront. Many of the above mentioned started for the first time last season. When a young player first goes into a prominant role, consistency tends to be the biggest challenge. What was the Jets biggest problem last season? Consistency.

Jets are gonna be alot better this year. They don't need to play Madden GM to fill holes to accomplish that either. They'll improve from within. Quite honestly nobody in this league scares me. Jets can hang with anyone including the Patty cakes. The only team that scares me IS the Jets. Can they stay consistent, execute & not shoot themselves in the foot? If they do...they have the talent to play with anyone. Regardless of what you, all the rest of the Jets haters or the media thinks.

    Hey, don't shoot the messenger.

There are many media pundits out there who thought the Bills had a great off-season and Banks isn't the only one predicting the Bills will challenge the Pats.

I just posted the article in response to the poster who thought it was incredulous that the Bills could possibly finish ahead of the Jets this year.

Please. I mentioned the MVP as ONE of his accomplishments. Do you dispute Holmes was Pitt's best receiver from his second through fourth years? The MVP in his third year was coincidentally the same year he had his pot bust and was benched. The point was he bounced back.

How many other SB MVP's are on the Jets right now? Have ever been other than Namath? Maybe there was somebody other than Favre, but I don't think so. ANd FTR John Riggins got it AFTER he was on the Jets.

Favre never won a SB MVP.

Holmes and Namath were the only SB MVPs to play for the jets after they wonn the award.

What do superbowl mvp's for players on the jets that they earned on other teams do for us? Does that somehow help the Jets?

I always credit Holmes for being a very clutch player. I love his skillset on the Jets, don't care for his personality at all. You don't trade #1 receivers for a 5th round pick and you shouldn't need to come up with a litany of excuses to argue someone is one.

There were circumstances to his trade that you need to acknowledge. 1 year left on contract, off field issues, 4 game suspension coming up, WR depth, Ben's problems.

Last year the OL stunk, Burress was only good in the RZ, Holmes struggled, Sanchez struggled but in '10 w/ a deep threat and quality OLplay he was excellent for us. We have 2 deep threats in Schilens & Hill this year, if the OL is ok Holmes will have a very good year and even as bad as it was last year he did win 2 games w/ late TD catches(Wash & Buf). The man makes big plays.

I stopped readin your trash at that. Your opinion is a joke. Watch football see players form an opinion then come back

Yea sure I acknowledge there were circumstances to the trade. If he was a bonafide #1 receiver it wouldn't matter. There were circumstances when we traded Keyshaun too.

He is a clutch player no doubt.

The only teams in the NFL he'd be a #1 WR on are teams lacking talent at the WR position. Name me more than 5 teams not named the Jets where there's no question he would be the #1 WR. If he's a top 15 WR that should be an easy exercise.

You've really taken some liberties on these ones. You would get arguments from a lot of non-Jet fans on these.

    Buffalo - Stevie Johnson
    Baltimore - Anquan Boldin
    Jax - Blackmon
    Oak - Heyward-Bey
    Washington - Moss
    Minny - Harvin
    SF - Moss

Rams, Seahawks, Jacksonville, Cleveland, Minny, Miami, Washington he’s no question the #1 WR. Oakland, SD, Colts, Titans, and maybe Broncos there can be a relatively easy case for him being the #1 receiver.

With that said, I dont think he is a top 15 receiver, but definitely top 25-20.

How did the Holmes’ argument get brought into this thread???

I gave you 13, you responded w/ 7 so that leaves 6 w/o argument. You asked for 5.

Stevie Johnson is a better #s guy, he's known for dropping critical passes, Holmes is known for making GW catches.

Boldin is a nice #2 at this stage of his career.

    Heyward Bey is still developing

Santana was once better, those days are gone.

Blackmon hasn't played a down in this league

Randy Moss hasn't been effective since 2009.

Harvin is a different type of WR, in a bad year for Holmes he had 8 TDs last year- Harvin's carer high is 6

Eh, I tend to think he's got all the heart he needs, its just the talent really isn't there. We really overpaid for an average guy because he will go out and make the odd monster clutch catch now and then.

12-4. We SHOULD win that Miami home game, but we won't, cause that's how it goes.

I think we beat the crap out of the Steelers week 2. The Steelers tend to keep every game close no matter who they are playing. Of course they bombed us in the AFC championship but how many times have you seen the Steelers in close games against like the Browns and other garbage teams? I like our chances, especially if Denver beats up week 1.

Anquan Boldin isn't a good #1 receiver anymore, holmes would beat him out. Holmes would definitely be a #1 over blackmon initially as blackmon is a rookie. Heyward-Bey is just extremely fast, holmes would be #1 over him. Percy Harvin is more of a slot receiver, i could definitely see holmes being a #1 there. Only ones that I wouldn't agree with is buffalo and SF.

Just as a point though, SF has never said Randy Moss was the #1 receiver on the team, no one knows what to expect from him
