  1. correction..

After publicly portraying yourself as a key cog in an organizations turnaround, in an industry dependent on team work, Ask for a raise w 2 yrs left on your contract paying you in the top 20% at your position, when you’re already a multi millionaire.THEN go on social media insult the organization, leak negativity about your boss, make a list of competitors youd like to play for w no raise neccesary. All during a global pandemic w financial uncertainty around every corner

Now THATS the American dream.Poor Jamal.Hes gotta feed his family too!

Jets organization is trash. But how does any of the peril of this situation fall on them?

What's the point? People ask for raises all the time. I don't see why people here get so worked up every time a guy on the Jets does.

There is no peril in the situation; it's only a game. And it probably won't be played for another year.

He is already under contract, why give him more money without any years added, that is senseless.
And other teams go through the same situations. Acting as if the Jets are the only team to ever deal with a disgruntled player, well you must wear blinders.

No one is really getting worked up that he wants or asked for a raise. People are getting worked up because he's trashing the organization and throwing hissy fits on social media when they don't want to give him one (until it is absolutely necessary at least) and then offering to work for some competitors without that raise. All in the middle of a financial crisis with a ton of uncertainty about how any raise they give him will impact the organization's chances of being competitive in the future.

Asking for a raise would be no problem. Demanding a raise and throwing a public hissy fit is a problem.

If you go on social media and talk bad about the company you work for in real life you will find it is a disciplinary issue and you will be issued with a warning or if really bad, the sack.

Yeah cause being a athlete under a multi-million dollar contract is basically the same thing as working at Home Depot.

Because he's your best player and he's not happy. Duh.

He's their best player that's Jamal Adams leverage. The Jets need Adams more than Adams needs the Jets. Anywhere they trade him if they trade him barring serious injury he'll be Jamal Adams that's why he's great.

He established himself as possibly the best player at his position in only his second season before Gregg Williams with Bowles & Rodgers running the Jets defense.

Not their best player, superstar, not a generational talent like Adams and not in this manner.

What other team in professional sports right now has their best player this unhappy with them? Any sport doesn't have to be just NFL.

Because of Adams' anger to me it's obvious the Jets haven't been dealing in good faith with their best player.

That's not a good look for the Jets.

So the Jets pay more even though he is already under contract. So Jamal gets something, what do the Jets get? They get to pay more for the same two years?

He is under contract for two more seasons, that is the Jets leverage.

Melvin Gordon, Khalil Mack, Zeke Elliot, and the list goes on and on

    Le'Veon Bell, Steelers
    Antonio Brown, Steelers
    Eric Dickerson, Rams
    John Elway, Colts
    Jim Kelly, Bills
    Jerome Bettis, Rams
    Marshall Faulk, Colts
    Randy Moss, Vikings
    Brett Favre, Packers
    Joe Montana, 49ers

And those are just the ones that I thought of immediately upon reading that sentence.

    I've decided:

Adams will NOT be extended this year. I got sh!t to do and it doesn't include extending dudes with three years left on their deals. It's professional football. So, we know everyone wants to get paid.

That said, whatever he says--I don't really pay any attention to that--he has to produce on the field.

right, were really quick to judge a guy for speaking his mind and wanting more. im sure none of these guys ever changed jobs because they wanted more or asked for more or put in for a new job at the same company. no never that.

and the way contracts in the nfl work being non guaranteed and the team being able to essentially say bye at any point with no financial burden other than money already paid and a hit on their salary cap you would think hey you know what these guys have a pretty fucked up labor deal to begin with. let them try to get what they can.

but no we turn them into pariahs...

Mehta information do you have or is this just a hunch? It could just be that Adams is making poor decisions.

    2018 Antonio Brown, Pittsburgh
    2018 Le’Veon Bell, Pittsburgh
    2018 Khalil Mack, Oakland

Just in the last couple of years. This stuff happens all of the time.

There are others too like Melvin Gordon, who aren’t truly the team’s best player.

I hope that Mosely, Williamson, Gore and Bell are speaking with Adams and telling him to cool it.

He'll manage to argue with himself about that, no worries.

Judge a guy for speaking his mind, c'mon. He does not want to be here.

Sorry I'm late. Here's your dry cleaning. Light starch.

So did you decide about Jamal?
