Why everybody is going ape shit on the guy that started the thread I don't know. I was listening to ESPN Radio here locally and it's a national feed now I was on the phone half listening to my wife and the other half the radio. They had Michael Smith on and I got the impression that Denver had contacted New England about Cassell and that the fans in Denver weren't happy. Apparently they love Cutler and McDaniels they are still unsure of. They compared McDaniels to that guy who goes to a garbage college but because his dad was somebody important they get the VP job with no experience. The hosts were saying not a good way to begin in Denver..... so I got the impression that Denver initiated talks and Cutler and the fans were non too happy about it.
Oh, he's definitely pissed. Forget the speculation, he's admitting it: http://www.denverpost.com/breakingnews/ci_11809351 "My understanding at this point is they're trying to trade me," Cutler said this afternoon. "We'll see where I end up at. I liked it here, I liked playing with these guys but obviously they're not going to let me have that opportunity."
Haven't even hit March yet...and already McDaniels has egg on his face. What a stupid fudgepacker. If i was Bronco fan....I'd be LIVID!! Cutler >>>>>> Cassel......Cassel shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as Cutler talent-wise.
Sorry, hadn't seen the info in the Post report, including the quotes. Just speculation about how sources say he's pissed. He says this makes it hard to play for McDaniels...but he doesn't play for his coaches anyway. He plays for his team. Josh is making himself awfully hard to like right now if you're an offensive player for the Broncos.
taking a sabbatical from the eye candy....and lending support to who i think should be our 1st round pick in 2009....Mr.Hakeem Nicks. i know his tits aren't as nice.....but we need a Wideout.
no sir....in fact, I share your sentiment. Nicks needs to be in Green/White.....I'm convinced he'll make Clemens or Ratliff look good this season
This story is taking on a life of its own with different twists. I just Mort on ESPN News. He pieced together some good info. First, the Broncos weren't so much shopping Cutler, but Mc Daniels was hot for Cassell. It's the fallout from Cutler getting his feelings hurt that may have spoiled his relationship with the new head coach before it could get started. It appears that Minnesota, Detroit and Tampa made contact with Denver to try and work a three way deal where Cassell goes to Denver, Cutler tothe 3rd team and picks back to New England. Mort said Tampa's offer was their first and third rounder this season. Tampa is picking 13th in April. And there's the interesting point as Mort suggested. If Tampa and Denver were on board, why would Belicheck turn down a far better offer? Tampa's 1st round pick and 3rd rounder kills the 2nd rounder that Pats received from Kansas City. Many were scratching their head about why the Pats got so little in the trade and sent Vrabel along as well. Mort heavily suggested without coming right out and saying it - Belicheck did this because he has some bitter feelings about a young protege flying the coup and becoming a head coach elsewhere. This would be seen as silly fodder but for one thing. This is exact how Belicheck treated Eric Mangini when he took the job with the Jets. Why else would Belicheck turn down such a better offer for Cassell?
If Denver is stupid enough to fire Shanny with 3 years and $21 million left on his contract, they are stupid enough to trade Cutler.
WEE NEED CUTLER, we have to trade our first round and more for him, this would give the team everything it needs
