I was in full support of letting Clemens/Ratliff battle it out for the starting QB position but that was before hearing that Cutler could be had.
    NO BRAINER GO GET HIM!!!

i wouldn't want to trade picks for him when he wouldn't make our passing game that much better

The thing is he would make are passing game dramatically better. Like worth multiple first round picks worth better.

Exactly right. Having him on the field makes the 60 yard bomb possible on any down.

If Cutler really is on the market the Jets would be crazy not to go after him. We have spent a ton on free agents, and we have one glaring obvious need, QB. If we have any chance at this guy we have to go after him. Offer 1st and 3rd this year, and a conditional first for next year based on his playing time. Cutler was already upset by the firing of Shanahan now with this you would have to think he wants out. This would be huge for management to sell this guy as the face of the Jets. Should have drafted him now its time to fix the mistake.

Jay Cutler would be awesome. He is young and has gone through the tough time for a QB, the first three yrs. His addition would instantly improve the Jets, regardless of us being run first or pass happy offense.

Defense is set. Jay could be the missing piece in the O and a second (or 3rd) round WR would be pretty good for this team. However, reports suggest the Jets are high on both Stuckey and Clowney. I have a feeling we would go D first in draft. We need to improve our D. Brad Johnson and Trent Dilfer have won SB, Im sure Jay can too. They both had the best D in their yr so if we can have a top 3 D, we'd be set and real contenders, unlike last yr when people doubted Favre's abilities.

First and 4th for this ass...I mean bronco.

He's better than who we have (so far, we think) but I wouldn't give up a ton to get him, he's overrated.

This is why me and others bashed the first poster who brought up Cutler and trade talks. Now everyone is going to get their panties twisted up and despise our FO for not attempting to get Cutler.

    DUMB.

I don't think Cutler is really going to be traded unless denver received some ridiculous offer like two 1sts + extra players or picks, they would be insane to take anything less. Having said that, I would definitely give two 1sts for Cutler because in my opinion he is one of the best young QB's in the league.

Yes. Presumably thats what Denver thought when they drafted him...Considering the new HC knows a little bit more about QB's than you or me, that should tell you something....

We just got one whiny little bitch off the roster....why go looking for another...

Cutler wasn't available for trade on page 2, and he's still not available on page 14. Get over it.

Now Cutler won't even speak with them. This will end badly or will end with him getting a new contract.

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3944555

"Yes, the Denver Broncos want Jay Cutler to return for a little sit down to mend fences after the team's reported failed attempt to trade for New England quarterback Matt Cassel. Cutler won't have any of it after the two sides spoke by telephone Sunday.

"They want me to come in and talk to 'em but I'm not doing it right now; I'm going to lay low," said Cutler. "The [Broncos] deny everything. That's a problem. We know for a fact they tried to trade me."

Anyone have a ballpark idea how much cap space we have after our F.A. signings so far? I don't think anyone knew for sure before the FA period. Just curious if we still have a little or a lot of $$ to throw around to fill some spots. I think it would be nice to have Cutler, but I'm not sure our front office would want to throw out the money it'll take to get him. Plus I think they are wanting to see if one of the guys we already have could become just as good for less $$. You never know.

Not sure about the overrated part, but while he's if not better than what the Jets have now, he's a somewhat more proven commodity, the real problem is he's under contract and Denver will ask for alot, and of course there are other teams that will compete on that. Add it all up and it's unlikely he comes to NY.

If Cutler is available, why not bring him in? The thing is that Denver still needs him. So they are not worried about what Jay wants so much as what they need. This has a long way to go before it plays out.

So Cutler is pissed the Broncos tried to trade him, yet now everyone thinks he is demanding a trade? Makes sense.

The only chance of Cutler being moved is if this tiff with the Broncos really gets bad. Rotoworld just said he asked for a trade before this whole thing happened, so that's something.

They'll probably give him a big fat extension and let it blow over though.

Maybe if you guys discuss this for another 26 pages, it'll come true. I've never seen so much attention given to something that wasn't happening. Why not discuss a trade for Adrian Peterson?
