They have been building for the future for 40 years. It's the excuse teams use when they never win.

We were one game form the division last year. Cutler has not proven to be better than anyone we have on the roster.

And no one that we have on the roster has shown themselves to be an immature prima dona....

A QB is a leader. Cutler is a Whiner..the above poster said it incorrectly... Jeff George was the wrong example.

This guy is one cut above Ryan Leaf.

No doubt he has his problems but unlike Leaf he can at least play.

And thats what you want to lead half of your football team?????

Sheesh..at least make the other person make their arguments.

None of the guys currently on the roster have PMS issues. Cutler is a woman. Period. (We didnt need that he has his own....)

    Bad Choice.

Tomorrow, you would be fielding a KNOWN QUANTITY as the worst QB in the division....how could you hope to succeed?

Wtf is it with people on this board lately they cant manage even a reasonable amount of civility to fellow fans? Those posts on the first page are really unecessary.

I strongly believe that the broncos shopped him around and ofc thy are going to claim otherwise after it didnt come off.

there is a bit of protocol on this board... there are unwritten rules.

news is to be followed by a link, article posted is preferred with link.

all that "we need him!!11" is a put off especially if it is completely unreasonable. In this case Cutler was only a name thrown out there and was not truly on the block.

and with a lot of the stupidity on this board since the season ended, people have no more patience for it... i certainly don't.

anyway... Cutler is a Bronco - its time to let this thread die.

    Cutler is a pro bowler.

Clemens was a failure in his limited regular season action.

Ratliff has had no major duty even in the preseason, only mop-up duty against 3rd stringers.

    Seriously. Some perspective, please.

To be fair...Peyton Manning would've been a failure too..if he would've played behind the line that Clemens played behind.

Thank you, a rational statement. Cutler has had legitimate success in the league and is head and shoulders above Clemens and Ratliff

    Pro Bowl means crap.

Limited regular season action behind Adrien Clarke and Anthony Clement means crap.

    Preseason means crap.

    Seriously.

all that being said... i would not want to trade picks and such for him. that would take away from our offensive focus , which is running, and we don't have the tools to use his large arm etc... i think it would be a waste

It was a bad line yes, and he should be given some sort of a mulligan and should have another shot but it does not put him on Cutlers level by any means.

Come on MBGreen, you take down one of the best avatars in here and replace it with a player from the school I absolutely hate most. I'm let down tremendously here........

it is never a waste to get a franchise QB. If we get cutler that solves QB for a decade. We can get the tools to help him in that time span, and with Rex running the defense if we can score, we will win

You could be right....but how do we know?! With the revamped offense, Clemens could very well live up to expectations. The guy was a 2nd round draft choice....and his upside was well documented.

Or he could be a bust.

You, me, the rest of the board won't know either way...till he gets his chance to run the offense in 2009.

    just my .02

I agree with Hobbes when he says Cutler has not proven himself better than Clemens (or Ratliff). Cutler has been good, very good sometimes, but also very inconsistent. He makes some really terrible throws at times and has only been a starter 2 full seasons. He does still have a lot to prove. The line Cutler plays behind is the polar opposite of the Jets' line in '07 anyway, so the argument is moot.

The thing is Cutler style and strengths are very similar to Favre's. And while favre frustrated me just much as he did everyone else, he made us a hell of a better team, and he won a super bowl with that style. So while he may not ever reach Favre level, he is still a hell of a QB and would make are offense explosive in a way not many QBs can, and he can do it for another decade.

This makes no sense. having a "focus" doesn't mean every other aspect of the offense should suck. And if the passing game isn't credible, then the run game will be awful, as defenses can solely gameplan against that.
