You're still putting the burden on the offense to score 30 POINTS A GAME. Here's a statistic for you: NOT ONE team in the league this year scored more than 448 points. That's how many points the Broncos gave up this year. If you think he had a good chance to get in the playoffs with that defense, then I guess no QB is good enough for you.
Save your statistics. Try to watch a real game. If you've watched Cutler (as I have in more than half of his games) in the 4th quarter or when the game's outcome is still in doubt, he is shaky at best. Inaccurate passes, missed reads and no real feel for taking the reins of his team. He's great when his team is up big and he just throws 50 yd post routes to Marshall continually. Yet watch him when the game is on the line and let me know what you think. I'm not saying he's bad but I'd rather have many other QB's. A lot of upside there, but potential only lasts so long. You need to win sooner or later. He hasn't yet. We'll see.
2009 1st rounder, 2010 1st rounder and a conditional pick in 2011 for Cutler. That's a good day for everyone right there. MAKE IT HAPPEN WOODY!!
I don't care what anyone says, if Cutler can be had it's a no brainer for us to go and get him. He's a guy that is young, and extreamly talented with a rocket arm. THIS GUY IS A NO BRAINER.
No need for Cutler... if our QB plays well we don't need him, if he plays shit next year we are going to be high in the draft and we'll get a QB there.
I live out in Boulder and on the way home from the gym I was just listening to one of our local radio guys, Mike Evans, make the point that he'd rather have Cassel than Cutler on the Broncos. Cutler seems to be a little bit of a thin skinned prima dona. He's got the big arm, but he's more Jeff George than John Elway.
The funny thing is they did...all they had to do was win one of 3 games down the stretch. While the defense was piss poor in that stretch, Cutler didn't do them too many favors with 2 TDs against 4 picks in those 3 games.
Cutler in his tenure at Denver seems to have been having....mental/emotional issues....He knows he's talented, but has trouble living up to the Hype. He won't be Joe Willie, Vinny in 98, OBrien in 85 or Pennington in 02..... Your QB is already on the roster...and not F*ng up your Cap on a wing and a prayer. Leon Washington, Dustin Keller and Thomas Jones means that your QB s going to be asked to make....maybe 15 real throws a game. Clemens has shown he can do it at this level with NO offensive line....Ratliff as shown enough to convince people that actually get paid to make that decision...
Yeah. whats another year or two or three of losing after 40 already, right? We can build for the future, right? The future has come and gone 10-15 times already since the Jets last won anything.
The way I look at it, the Jets have been building for the future for 2-3 seasons now, and we'll find out just how well of a job they did building when Ratliff and Clemens get their crack at the starting QB job. When one of these guys pan out, them + the draft picks we didn't trade will make for a much better overall team than Cutler and his emotional issues.
