Cowher would be a huge upgrade for this franchise, I'm praying it gets done.

I'd love Cowher. He's my coach of choice.

"I'd much rather give Bill Cowher $13 million a year than Brett Favre," Esiason said.

    Hell yea.

Let's assume that Cowher becomes our head coach. Let's also assume that Favre's MRI comes out fine. Does Favre come back for one more season under Cowher and see how it goes or does management and Cowher release him and start with a young, fresh QB?

If he still has the fire to coach, I'm all for it. If its just for the money.....Fuck'em.

    Simply my wish list...

Do I think he'll leave Los Angeles where he has it made for the Jets? Sure...For $10 million a year:grin:

I could take some heat for this but I would almost be excited to see Cowher and Favre in 2009. With Cowher this team will most certainly have direction and he will coach this team with fire and desire. If Cowher gets the Jones/Washington running game going as much as the Stewart/Williams tandem in Carolina this could be big. Being a defensive mind is certainly an awesome plus as well. It could play out to be a well-rounded situation for everyone involved.

Something just tells me that they have something happening behind closed doors. Obviously we knew that it was 50/50 for Mangini to be shown the door but I definitely did not see it happening so soon. This leads me to believe that something is in the fire. BUT is it Cowher?

    Make it happen Woody!

I rather have Spagnuolo as long as he's seriously interested, personally.

Excellent track record aside from the Lions and that situation was a complete disaster.

Rite on the money. Steelers don't like to sign their FAs. They will give contract extensions but signing the FAs is not the Steelers priority in the past, not that they haven't however.
