Power Rankings this early is stupid. No way jets are the worst team. Defense will still be good and offense can only go up. Are you kidding me?
of course thats a bad move! all he does is win! now that he's gone we're just an even bigger circus without hope! we drafted horribly! all we want are headlines! we're a joke of a football team! we''ll finish at the bottom at like 0-16! We'll have another rookie failure we didn't develop! And the fat dumbass will start mr.buttfumble! and thats all he'll do all season! run into his lineman's rear end! over and over! the new york jests deserve to be at the bottom! a disgrace to the NFL! they're so bad its really unbelievable! like a cartoon or some shit! a motherfucking circus! obviously! CIRCUS!!!
LOL! That's why I'm sick of ESPN. All they do know is rip on the Jets. They also make no sense when they say "The Jets brought in a lot of new talent, but added more QB drama." The Jets got rid of the media frenzy named Tim Tebow. There is also nothing wrong with having a competition for the most important position on the field. Screw ESPN. Also, the fact that San Fran isn't one just completely discredits those rankings.
I don't know, they only severly missed on 5 teams, and who honestly expected the Seahawks to be a very very good team last year? But overall they were pretty close in most regards if you figure a 1-2 win variable in any given season based on projections.
When I think of the Jets, Bills, Raiders, Titans in 2013 I can draw only one firm conclusion I'd bet the ranch on. The Jets are going to bring it on defense.
Added more QB drama? How can ESPN actually publish this? If they didn't draft a QB they'd say we didn't address needs. And we dropped this biggest source of this drama. Plus we won 6 games last year (5.5 without Revis) and just picked up some solid starters in this draft. I just can't take ESPN seriously anymore it's a complete joke.
In all honesty the LB corp is a huge question mark this year. Harris is getting older and a step slower (he wasnt fast to begin with). The secondary is now VERY young and lost it's two best safeties. The CB position is solid and the D-line is an upcoming force but I'm not sure it's ready to dominate the way it will have to in order to overcome a weak safety position and a questionable Linebacking corp. The offense Running game should be better IF the young right side of the O-line matures quickly. The passing game is a big questionmark with the new OC probably taking a year to get the offense moving in a new direction and having to rely on very young recievers (outside of Holmes) who may or may not be ready for the prime role yet. Not to mention the unsettled QB question. Looking at the schedule and the teams that the Jets will be playing if the Jets split the games with the Dolphins and Bills they MIGHT get as many as 6 wins, but I could see this team winning as few as 3 games next season looking at the schedule. Buccaneers were better than the Jets last season and they got MUCH better this off season. Patriots, while being in overall decline are still the best team in the division. Bills and Dolphins are both hard to call, but they are probably a little ahead of the Jets right now overall in overall team talent, and the Bills addes some potentially big time offensive weapons. Steelers, Bengals, Saints, Falcons and Ravens are all clearly better than the Jets by leaps and bounds. Raiders, this is the one game the Jets almost certainly should win. Raiders have better skill positon players overall, but their overall team is a mess. Which leaves the Panthers, Browns and Titans. of the three the Titans are probably the best team and the most difficult to beat. Panthers could be dangerous...Browns they probably should beat. Of course on any given Sunday the worst team can potentially beat the best team...but right now i'd put the odds of the Jets winning more than 6 games at about 30% and about 15% of being .500 next year. Of course, players may come of age faster, some players may have career years..we may "luck out" and face teams that are decimated by injuries...those are wild cards....but if your honest in your assessment this year doesn't look promising for the Jets. Which is okay, it's a transitional year. New GM, New OC, a Roster being torn down and rebuilt. I'm actually more okay with this path right now than I would have been if we'd spent a lot of money on aging veterans hoping to eek in to the playoffs. As long as the Jets do it right this time and build a young strong team that can compete for a long haul of seasons I'll happily sit through a "bad" rebuilding year or even two (if it takes that long).
lol, that is pretty much what the dumbass comment says on the jets. They replace tebow with smith so it's a downgrade. go figure. whatever.
Actually I forgot one point about the Jets, they have almost zero positional depth behind their projected starters (excluding the Defensive line). If Cromartie goes down, or Harris goes down the defense is in serious trouble. On offense if either Da Brick or Mangold goes down, or Holmes goes down (despite not being a true #1 reciever) the offense is in a world of hurt, even more so than it is now. to get even to 8-8 so many things would have to go right it's really not that worth considering.
Browns D is making the change once again supposedly to a 3-4 so there will be a transition period. Mendenhall's always hurt and Palmer's a bum these days.... Raiders/Jags/Browns I feel are worse then the Jets. Bills/Cards/Chiefs/Titans are on the same level as the Jets.
I find it hilarious that they are bashing the Jets for drafting a QB. I mean seriously, why would we address our BIGGEST need on the team in the second round while still getting the best rated QB? I guess it should be determined by how many QBs you have on the roster, not on how many actually talented QBs are on the team.
It's just a good narrative to create "drama" where there is none. This will go away if Rex and Idzik just come out and say the Sanchez era is over. BY stringing it out, it allows the media to hype the "controversy."
I don't buy any of this crap until we at least play a game..we have a new and supposedly very good OC and a new but unnamed very good DC(Rex) and let's see how it all plays out.
I'm thinking the Jets are a 6 win team next year, including the normal injury risk. If they get several bad injuries all bets are off. There are two ways they get significant upside off of that 6 win scenario. 1. Rex reconstitutes the defense to a clear top 5 unit, which is very possible. Marty M creates a coherent offense that is not run off the field in disgrace over and over again like last season. This is the 2009 scenario. Sanchez SUCKED in 2009. Really blew chunks. However Schotty and Rex got the Ground and Pound going eventually and it was coherent enough that the Jets defensive contributions were worth something in terms of wins. 2. One of the QB's is a lot better than we have any reason to expect right now and the WCO works well most of the season. I think we're headed for 6 wins but I wouldn't be shocked if one of the scenarios above rescues us for the year.
Things were as rough as they can get for you guys last year with HORRIBLE QB play, your bigtime CB gone, etc ... AND YOU STILL WON 6 GAMES. The Jets are not the worst team in the league at all.
its kind of funny that even dolphin fans are coming from the woodwork saying this is BS. when even a rival teams fans says "well i hate them, but come on give them SOME credit!" theres something wrong. the jets don't belong on the bottom. not on paper, not before all has been said and done.
2006 all over again, "The jets will be selecting brady quinn number 1 overall"....well that was a 2 pronged load of horse shit then, and it of course is now. Relax...
