Man..... when I saw them replay the paint flying of the helmet i though it was an art masterpiece.. How many times are you blessed to see something like that? They will probably incorporate these smith hits in the next madden and we will all buy it.
Met this guy during training camp in August. Asked him how many interceptions he's going to have in 2010, and he corrected me saying "you mean concussions I'm going to give?" Fuckn' love the guy.
1. We need a gif of that helmet-shattering hit. NOW. 2. I just remembered an Eric Smith quote from training camp that was posted here. Fan: "How many interceptions do you think you'll have this year?" Smith: "Don't you mean how many concussions I'll give out?" Edit: Whoa
I thought Eric Smith has had two fine performances in the playoffs and has been slept on for much of the year. On the Welker hit in real time I saw the decal fly and though WTF is that expecting to see some of the fask fasteners or plugs be missing form a helmet. Slo mo replay in the highlights just looked great A fine is pretty inevitable but we should put the hat round and help him out purely for this moment *Never gonna happen* Imagine the headlines. "Dem Jets fans got less class that the team LOL

He's making our 2006 draft look like the best draft we've had: Brick Mangold E. Smith B. Smith Leon Washington Drew Coleman That's 5 very solid contributors plus a guy that we traded for John Connor.
The big hits Smith brought were huge, in a game where they were desperately needed. I think a lot of fans were frustrated early by the Jets' inability to lay a solid hit, especially on Woodhead, who looked like he actually went through Bart Scott's legs one time. Ellis set the tone early, taking Brady to the turf twice in the first quarter. Smith kept it going with big hits in coverage, and Pace's hit on Brady might've been the most important defensive play of the game. After seeing a few more replays today though, I think Smith's biggest contribution might have been in zone coverage over the middle of the field. He's never been great covering the deep zones, he doesn't quite have the speed to be that kind of player, but part of the Jets strategy was to flood the middle of the field, and Smith was a big reason why that strategy worked. The future of the safety position is one of the most interesting questions on this team going forward. Leonhard is a sure thing to stick around. Before yesterday, I would've said almost everybody else could go (Poole, Smith, even Lowery). But I think Eric Smith has done enough to prove that he can be as valuable on defense as he is on special teams.
Mankins' decal was ripped off too. Someone layed the lumber on him. Probably Harris. Someone find that shit on video.
Yea, Kellen Clemens is in there, too, but didn't list him. Only outright busts were Schlegel and Titus Adams. Even Pociask stayed in the league a while. Great draft. 2006/2007 produced the core of our team.
I gotta give Welker and Woodhead some credit for getting up after those shots. Smith was a wrecking ball out there.
