I have no clue why the Jet's never brought Ebron in for a visit, maybe they thought he wouldn't be available. maybe they're happy with Cumberland and Sudfeld. I tend to think Idzik would want to visit with his possible 1st Rd pick.
doesn't matter much WW85, last year sheldon richardson said minus the combine, he never spoke to the jets
they had plenty of other WRs, it made no sense for them to pay Holmes. add in the ben rape stuff and now holmes was in trouble and they traded him. yep, it's too bad he doesn't have the attitude of Aaron Hernandez. so he's a Jimmie Graham type? sign me up.
I think they just thought there was no way he would be there at 18. Now that he is falling, it's to late. This is interesting though. The Jets had to have seen something to be talking about a trade up. There has to be something brewing with the top 10 teams that Idzik feels could damage the Jets board.
Ah, the day of the draft. When all competitive prospects are lowlife scumbags, dealing drugs to each others little sisters. To an NFL GM or opposing agent this is like smell of napalm in the morning. Victory!
The reason is probably the Jets never thought Richardson would be available. Go look at the players drafted last year and who visited Floram Park, most did. Richardson & Winters didn't.
I think trade up talk is probably a bunch of crap. If they do trade up it's not for a WR, cause there will be a bunch available. I say it's for a specific player like Zach Martin/Taylor Lewan.
i doubt that's the reason, teams keep in contact with a lot of people. sometimes they just already know
I don't know man. I thought this also until I saw other team executives mentioning the Jets. Especially when Adam Schefter reports it. That guy is spot on always.
I'd love to see a trade up in the 2nd. If anybody but Ebron is picked in the 1st could secure ASJ, and if Ebron is picked then could get a higher quality WR or another position even. Trading up in the 1st seems like a waste though the cost is too high and there should be a solid option or two for this organization at 18. The first 15 picks would have to play out perfectly bad with the bare minimum of QBs taken and all of our targets taken with no reaches or DTs by any team. Doubt that happens.
Pass. One of the highly rated guys that really seems to have severe bust potential. Very wary on him.
Yeah, but he got straight A's in his no-show classes at one of our nation's finest public institutions of higher learning.
he doesn't hold a bogus sociology from durham but he'll survive. stop w/ that nonsense, just b/c you guys went out in the rd of 64 AGAIN.
The VD wannabe runs a 4.6. He's not Vernon Davis. VD runs a 4.38. Research the facts before you drink the Kool-Aid. Even if he is the "next Vernon Davis," VD took 4 years to break out. I'm not denying he has talent. But that only gets you so far. I'd rather see the guy sliding off a surfboard in icy waters than on the Jets.
Um, is "Vernon Davis 2.0" a compliment? Hasn't Davis been somewhat of a bust? He's been a career underachiever who comes up big occasionally in the playoffs, but he's been a slacker overall who has coasted on his talent and has not fulfilled his potential by any stretch. I was victimized by having him on my fantasy team a couple years ago, and by midseason he was riding my bench in favor of bottom of the barrel guys. Overall, Vernon Davis has been a disappointment for the niners, and Ebron reminds me too much of him .... PASS!
I wouldn't mind taking Ebron at 18. I've seen a lot of people assuming he goes to the giants, but the giants don't take 1st round TEs. ( only Jeremy Shockey ) And the giants have had a lot of good TEs in its history. The gm. has to be confident in getting quality TEs after round 1. Who knows,, maybe Ebron might be there at 18... can't wait to see.
