If people hate Holmes they'll hate Tate x10. He's an unclassy player who tries to get away with dirty plays quite often. He frequently taunts and gets penalized for it. Keep him away.

Nicks has had two poor years back to back. We might be able to get him really cheap, but I wouldn't overpay for him. I'm not too sure how he could handle the #1 WR role as he underproduced the last two years with Cruz next to him.

Giant fans I know do not think much of Nicks. As you indicate they think he's not anywhere near a real #1 and is too frequently injured.

Cowboys are $20 mil over the cap right now(worst in the NFL)

Dez Bryant is due to make only $1.78 mil next year, and he's looking for a big time extension, which the Cowboys probably can't afford to give him right now.
    ---------------------------

Any chance we can trade for him??

Golden Tate gives 100% effort. Bluntonio Holmes does not.

Btw he isn't a dirty player - that hit on Sean Lee was clean. His play is similar to Hines Ward.

Give me Maclin and / or Tate. It should not be expensive to acquire one of those 2 guys. Especially Maclin.

Decker would be a good fit with the Jets IMO. Yes, he has Peyton as his QB BUT i remember him making plays with Tebow as his QB too!

We would have to overpay in any case.

I have to disagree with this. Tate is a scrappy player who is nothing like Holmes. Holmes is a me player and is lazy. You never hear Tate complaining in Seattle. sure he'll get a stupid penalty here and there but what receiver doesn't?

Holmes has diminished. he used to be a reliable receiver, but now he drops passes that hit him in the chest.

As much as I had a boner at the thought of us signing Decker the fact is that he is a complimentary piece and not a game changer on his own.
Signing him to a big $ contract and not having any more available to add pieces around him would be a waste.
Tell me we could sign Decker & Nicks and I'm in, but Decker being our #1 guy, not sold on the idea now that I've really had time to think about it.

Interesting... Would LOVE disco DEZ here!

Would take at least a 1st rounder + 3rd this years draft.

    Very interesting news though...

I think they would aim to add a top 5 WR in the draft (watkins/lee/evans/benjamin/mathews) plus Kerley and Decker.

That wouldn't be bad at all

i thought only white players can be scrappy

its not bad, if the rookie plays like a rookie your still looking at nelson decker and kerley as the top 3. not earth shattering but solid and reliable. better than this year for sure

After seeing this shit fest of a receiving core for about 3 years now, I'm not gonna nit pick with $ when we have a ton too spend. A guy like Decker, is way better then anyone we have and is a beast of a receiver.

Would much rather Maclin than Decker, but that's just me.

This. Nice player, but I don't think he'll be as impressive without Demarius Thomas drawing coverage on the other side of the field.

Every time drafting a TE in the 1st comes up, I think of Kyle Brady, Anthony Becht, Johnny Mitchell and trading for Doug Jolley.

Get a WR in the 1st rd please!

Hines Ward was one of the dirtiest players ever. He never passed up a cheap shot. Just like Rodney Harrison.

There's absolutely no way Jerry Jones lets go of Dez Bryant.

And while I love Dez's skills, I don't think the team has enough veteran leadership, or a good enough QB, to keep Dez in line.

Well lets try to think about this from Idziks point of view. This is a really weak Wide Receiver Free agent class this year so you would have to pay more for less in general. However it is one of the deepest Wide Receiver Draft classes in years. With Nelson and Kerley, who I think are both good players, as the veteran WRs, he could then add two young Wideouts through the draft to build the team.

He needs to focus first on whats going on at RT and RG. Then tightend and then cornerback with Cromartie. If we don't bring him back then we will be looking to add another one some how.

Personally I think that if Bryd makes it to free agency we should be all over him. If we are going with younger corners then a FS like Bryd would be crucial to have. Our secondary was terrible last year if you think Rex is forgetting about that your nuts.

Also with this Holmes thing coming to an end, don't think Idzik is stupid enough to overpay for another veteran wideout. That doesn't seem to be the way he operates.

I think that is the way Idzik should approach it. Offense line, - TE- Corner/safety- Wideouts through the draft or on the cheap (britt, maclin, alexander)

I agree with a lot of this. But I think a guy like James Jones UFA WR of GB is the kind of guy Idzik will look at it. Decker will be way overpriced because of Manning and Maclin will get hurt on his way home from signing a contract. James Jones is experienced, durable, lockerroom guy & only turning 30 next year (look at 33yr old Bolding this year!).
Plus Jones will be very inexpensive. That is if the PATS dont go and get Jones before we do!

James Jones is the 2014 Willie Colon signing.

I'd love James Jones. But I'd take a young vet like Maclin and Nicks should come cheap.
