Being he is a FA after this season I doubt that was the team thinking, maybe on his part though, figured with this team there is no way he enhances his value on the market, sits out the season and signs a decent contract in free agency.

I can't blame Thompkins for having the ball knocked out, but a stronger receiver like Marshall or Decker would have been able to hang on. Of course the Bills would never have let Marshall or Decker run a go route into single coverage, so it is what it is.
We went from Decker and Marshall to nothing at all in one year...Mac better start working on his resume...The planes already have the banners just waiting on someone to pilot them.
There are no first cuts. 90 man rosters all through the preseason now. Sept 3 Rd rosters go from 90 to 53
This is a blessing for him because there isn't a QB on the roster that will make him look good. Take the year off, maybe there will a QB on the roster in '18 that will get him the ball.
