Bowles' Cardinals went 11-5 last year despite starting 4 QBs (Palmer, Stanton, Lindley, Thomas) and Maccagnan's Texans went 9-7 despite starting 3 (Fitzpatrick, Mallett, Keenum). It's not an ideal scenario but at least our key guys have been exposed to environments where the team was able to win despite adversity at QB. Next man up?

I wish but he's clearly just not ready. And Fitz hasn't shown anything in practice to give me confidence in him either.

Petty does not have to start right away, he could come in after the bye.

Do you know how much his rating would change if you did take out that game? How about if you also take out his game against the Giants? Only makes sense to take out the worst game if you take out the best.
Take out both and his rating goes down a whole 1.65 pts. and it would still be over 16 pts. higher than Smiths. Hell, that is without taking out Geno's best, take out his best and Fitz is more than 22 pts. higher.

I have not been a big Smith supporter but I had said if he was the QB this year I would support him until that time that he was no longer the QB. I didn't discount the games he had at the beginning of the year, mid year, end of year, I looked at his entire body of work. I also looked at how many points he put on the board.

I was not happy about Smith getting hurt because I am never happy when a Jets gets hurt but I am going to support our QB.

One other thing, the next time you want to bring your homosexual fantasies into a thread why not do it on your regular butt buddy forum where ever that may be. No one wants to hear about you imagining someones balls in your mouth.

The sad part in all this is seeing how many of you actually believed Geno would defy the world and not suck blue whale balls.

I'm not even gonna set my sights on Fitzpatrick starting because I'm fully expecting Trevor Reilly to kick him in the nuts so hard that he misses 2-3 months. Anything is possible at this point.

    Can we get Simms back?

    Kidding...

I was just kidding. Good thing I didn't mention that other guy who was here a couple of years ago but only played a few downs!

    Credit to the FO!!

Mentioned this when we got him but how many times do you see a JETS FO insurance move that actually worked out?

    Get Chan Gailey OC
Get a QB who knows his system (Just in Case)
    and just like that...

ftr, Didn't Sanchise lose his spot because of his injury too?

    Well done by the FO

Indeed. The Front Office has made two moves that have paid out. Signing Fitzpatrick for insurance and drafting the BPA in Leonard Williams.

We also signed 3 very good CBs making the Millner injury irrelevant.

Both those teams had good defenses just like the 2015 Jets. The 2009 Jets went to the AFC Championship game with Sanchez throwing 20 ints that season because they had the best defense in the NFL.

As long as Fitzpatrick doesn't turn it over 20 times, the should be ok. They have three decent RBs and upgraded the WR with Marshall and Smith.

Browns, Redskins, Bills, Jaguars, Titans, and Raiders are all winnable.

Dolphins (2x), Eagles, Giants, and Texans are all toss ups.

    9-7 is very possible.

He did, but that was more about Rex making an idiot move then Sanchez.

Geno's own idiocy likely will keep him out of the starting job if Fitzpatrick is doing well.

I think we can still be competitive...... It's not like we lost an all pro qb...... My expectations are the same as they where before Geno got hurt...... I think we are an 8-10 win team with an outside shot at the playoffs.....
