How can you not be excited that we are no longer starting the worst QB in the league, for a guy who played on a team with less talent than us last year and won 7 games.
If he takes care of the football, brings veteran leadership to the position, isn't a liability on the field I think he can be good enough to bring home the division title.
Thankfully, he'll only have to make it through the first quarter of the season before Geno comes back!

At the very least he wont give us the headlines that Geno has given us. And Im not even talking about the play on the field. Today was just the latest story that has come out that proves Geno is an immature dickhead.

regardless of what Fitzpatrick does the jets have to be looking to draft a QB next season ,there are a few interesting players in the league already ... Z Mettenberger ,M Glennon perhaps for a 4 or 6 round pick maybe worth taking a shot on , but that's down road ...... at this point there going to need a back up ..asking B petty to be your # 2 is asking to much ...this really suck !!!! you cant get a QB now even a career back up without getting fleeced .... best the team can do now is wait to see who gets cut during preseason
Geno was doing better in camp than Fitz, so it's not great. However I really don't think Fitz is much of a step down at this point, for a few games.
It sounds like they really will red shirt Petty this season. That is why they are going to sign Tyler Thigpen or Rex Grossman. Let Fitzpatrick start, Vet back him up, and Petty watch with a clipboard. Hope he can take that next step in 2016's training camp. We will see how he looks in the preseason though.
