LOL at you guys having confidence in Fitzpatrick based off last year. Yes Fitz was 6-6 as a starter last year but did you see the teams he won against???? Wins: Redskins(#5 pick), Raiders(#4 pick), Bills(damn you EJ), Titans(#2pick)(2x) and Jags(#3 pick) - 109/165 66% 1333yds 11td(6 came in 1 game) 3int Loss: Giants, Cowboys, Colts(2x), Steelers, Eagles - 88/147 59% 1150yds 6td 5int Fitzpatrick is great for 1-5 max to keep a team at or above water but ask him to play a full 16 and your looking at 7-9 at best. Fitz has 5 wins against teams that picked in the top 5 in the draft
I have been disappointed in Fitzpatrick's play so far in camp. I am hoping that is because he's still coming back from the leg injury, and that he can get in enough time with the first team now to get up to speed. Jets still need to bring in a vet qb, though. Might it be someone even better? Probably not. Hopefully Fitz minimizes the mistakes and makes some plays.
That's obviously not encouraging. Hoping he starts to look better once he gets more time with the 1s and gets his legs under him. I'll be watching closely Thursday - though I expect them to take it really easy with him knowing that he has no backup.
Fitzpatrick's Win-Loss record is disturbing. The best he ever did was last year's (6-6) record. He has never gone over .500 for a season. Overall record of (33-55-1). That is pretty awful. Having said that: He really has never been on a great team either. Not saying the Jets are, but they have a solid Defense and weapons on Offense for him to succeed.
Ryan Fitzpatrick vs Matt Cassell twice should make for some absolutely enticing matchups. "Welcome to this week's edition of: 'Who can hide their quarterback better?!' Featuring Todd Bowles and Rex Ryan!"
Fitz was having the best season of his career last year until he got hurt. I'm totally happy to have him as our starter.
Fitzpatrick is nothing to be excited about......I don't know what some people are smoking around here.He has never lead anyone anywhere and he has been in the league over 10 years
No he wasn't, he stat padded on the fucking Titans (6 TD game). 2010 prior to his contract, was his best year.
He was the best option available to us--If he can stay healthy we can be competitive until we find a longer term solution.
I have faith in Fitz. There were games last year that Geno was absolutely atrocious and I wanted them to bench him for Vick and imo Fitz>Vick.
haha but to answer the original premise, have you guys not watched this dude the past 9 years....... particularly against your own team?!? btw, he was also BENCHED last season, then Mallet got hurt and he came in and put up some good performances against shitty defenses. I hope he magically finds some career renaissance but........
