And if we scored ten more points they'd have scored ten more. Peyton did what he wanted the last thirty two minutes when the Jets were down to Revis plus scrubs at corner.
You sound like Rex in that post game... yea it was tough losing Strickland that really hurt us... Come on. The offense got lucky with some trick plays in the first half, and didnt do much else of anything.
Greene got hurt after having his way in the first half. not being able to keep the ball out of mannings hands and manning finding out he could throw away from revis was the end.
Garçon destroyed us that game and he was basically the Colts' third WR at that point. Collie too, they feasted on our bad corners hence trading for Cro in the offseason
It's funny when a Rookie NFL QB throws an 80 YARD TOUCHDOWN in an AFC Title Game, but he is the problem! The Jets lost that game for many reasons: 1. The Colts were the much better team. 2. Greene got injured. 3. The Jets secondary was beat up and against the best QB in the NFL. No one would complain about that game if they thought it through. The Jets did have a 17-6 lead, so blowing that hurt, but not shocking. Definitely can't blame it on a rookie QB though. You can blame Rex for starting him or not retaining Favre etc, but Sanchez could only do so much as a rookie.
Typical Jet fans. O wow a corner gets hurt and we can't play. Patriots played a WR in their secondary during the superbowl and still won. I'm not blaming Sanchez for anything, he played like a rookie all season, and played average against the bungles and chargers. He played like a rookie against the colts. If we had fitzpatrick, we would have won. An 80 yard touchdown pass is either luck or blown coverage in the NFL. And the other TD pass was set up off of a 45 yard trick play from Brad Smith. The point being, if we had Fitzpatrick those years we would have beaten the colts. because he was an upgrade. But clearly as an organization we wanted to take lumps with a rookie, I get it.
Yeah, I agree. I have brought up in the past keeping Pennington instead of trading for Favre in 2008. Obviously Chad did not have much arm strength by the 2009 season, but he was a mistake free kind of game manager. Perfect for that 2009 Jets team. I wonder how he would have done leading them instead of a rookie like Sanchez. Favre too. Again, that is nothing against Sanchez, from my point of view, because he was still just a rookie learning the game.
Having Favre, or even Pennington, would have been a dream on that 2009 team. The stars just never seem to align at the same time for us between QB and team.
He may have actually scored points in the second half......or scored some in the first half against Pitt (At the very least maybe had not let up 7 pts)..
