There's a difference between legitimately hating someone and being jealous of them. Nobody's jealous. We hate both teams in the superbowl, but I don't understand how any Jets fan could root for NE on Sunday.
In my case it's rooting against the Giants. If it weren't the Pats (or Miami) I'd watch the game and actually root for the other team. In this case I won't be watching or rooting for anyone, just hoping New England wins so it's nice and quiet around here for the next few months.
I thought it was the correct call, so I don't feel any edge was gained. Both teams had chances to win after that, and SF made the critical mistakes. I agree that the 2nd half of the Jets / Steelers may have played out differently, but you were saying that one play was the difference between the Jets winning or losing that game, and I don't believe that is true. We didn't play good enough to win that game. We did not kick on onside down 19 to 24. We kicked it deep with over 4 minutes left in the game and all of our timeouts. Pitt drove down the field converting a couple of huge 3rd down plays, and were in FG range to kick what would have been a game winning FG had the fumble not happened.
It doesn't really matter now, the Giants won and are playing for a SB. You are right, I forgot we kicked it deep and allowed a ridiculous return.
I know. It sucks that the Pats and Giants are playing in another Super Bowl. Is it wrong to hope for a terrorist to fly a 747 into Lucas Oil stadium during the game?
damn techie inabilities: "Sundayjack: = Let me lay this out so that it's perfectly clear once and for all: among the several reasons I root for the Jets, one of the biggest is because I hate the Giants." +1 I hate the midgets, PERIOD!
I know, and I'm not being serious. How about a Tonya Harding / Nancy Kirrigan kind of thing to Brady and Eli's knees? Is that wrong?
