I'm secretly hoping some team hires Mike Lafleur away from us. We need a veteran OC who knows how to utilize everyone.

Personally I’m glad we have an OC that recognizes the matchups and plans accordingly.

We have a cemented identity as a football team and rolling with that (outside of Zach carrying the team on the fourth quarter of the Pittsburgh game) we’ve won three in a row and put up points. I think his playcalling has to improve especially on third down but he’s been fine.

He still calls long developing passes, way too early in games, still emptying backfields on 3rd and shorts, still not calling situational football well. Hes very inconsistent.

Now i dont know if hes incorporating his players into his scripted plays or if hes just doing it himself, i have no insight inthat window. I will say that if he is allowing Wilson to put the pass plays he likes in the gameplan (observational wisdom doesnt appear that way) then he should correct that. If hes not, thats on him. So he needs to be a lot better.

i agree with you my eye test tells me he’s been absolutely horrible this year compared to how he ended last year. Only difference is our defense is keeping us in games and getting good field position so we eventually put some points up. We’re not getting points off good play calling it’s really our D setting us up to win and Hall. He needs to improve drastically and that will help ZW. If I see another shutgun run on 3rd or 4th and short my head is gonna explode

The only play he called that infuriated me was the end of the first half of the Packers game

3rd and 1 and they pass. They should've run BUT that's not my problem. They boot Zach out to his left and force him to throw across is body and an important 3rd down conversion.

We can all agree that MLF can improve but saying the OC for the team that is currently 16th in total yards gained (17th in YPG) and 10th in scoring offense this year "hasn't been good at all" doesn't make that much sense to me.

“Absolutely horrible“ seems extremely dramatic. I said in my original post that he needs to improve his third downplay calling, that has been absolutely horrible. But top to bottom, full picture, I think he’s been just fine. I still don’t think we are operating with a full deck considering the revolving door with the front five and playing quarterback musical chairs. If it gets to be week nine, and we still don’t see the passing game start to evolve then I will get worried, but as of right now I think he’s calling it almost exactly the way he should.

I am hoping this Moore incident will be a long run net positive and Moore will realize to get back in good graces he needs to produce and be more consistent. He cannot run lazy routes like he did against Pittsburgh that cause INTs. He might have all the talent in the world but the receivers in this scheme need to be able to do the dirty work and help the other receivers out when they are not the focus of the play. Here is hoping Mimms takes advantage of his opportunity and puts a bit more pressure on Moore. Quite crazy how peoples perceptions of Moore and maybe Mimms could change so fast.

I think people get confused between what they want to see work and what is actually working. I’m guilty of it myself. I want to see a high powered offense, but I can also accept that ground and pound is working well for us.

Be careful the NFL stands for (Not For Long). There is a reason players do not want to come off the field, there is always someone behind you wanting to take your spot. Let's see if Mims steps up.

Glad the guy is away from the team for the week.

Kid has earned his way to the inactive list and hope a bit of tough love, takes this back down to being tepid. Players being unhappy with their roles and speaking to the coaches is natural.

He'll stay there until he apologizes to his team mates and gets working again. When Jamal kicked off, at least he had excellent tape on record.

Feels like Moore is busy thinking about his payday, rather than how to get there.

If he carries on being an arse, stick him in a dark room with Clemons for half a day.

MLF strikes me as a hothead, at least from some of the shots of him in the booth during games. It’s not totally implausible that Moore griped and LaFleur escalated things. Obviously speculation on my part, but if he did have a hand in this getting to the point it did, Saleh needs to get on his ass too. Best man or not.

We all want to see Zach and this offense throw for 400+ yards every week and be legit contenders.

However, like you said, the fact remains that the gameplan the Jets have implemented has worked in 3 straight games. Hard to be upset with the OC for implementing effective gameplans that result in W's.

Well if the JETS ever needed an excuse to display Mims before the trade deadline, they sure have one now....

It does when you look at the talent. Moore isnt wrong hes not using guys right. This team should be dropping 30 to 40 a game, its not. That doesnt take away from winning but it can be better and far more dominant.

The one TD was a busted play that Hall took off on. A lot of those ypg game early when they trailed and flacco was in throwing a lot, so context is needed there. Thats why you can pull numbers like that and quantify how well hes been doing. Eyeball and knowledge of the game says he needs to be much better. ( not being a smartass to you here)

This team can beat any team in the NFL. Im saying it now and i said it the beginning of the year when they posted the schedule everyone was so terrified of (Pundits). Thats how it happens. I told Alex Green this is a top 10 team in the NFL over the next few years, he told me i was bold to say that. Wonder if he still feels that way....
