Amen, Jay. Mcguire has 1 good play where the offensive line obliterated the defense and folks wanna crown him, trade Forte for nothin and hand the kid the reigns.

Mcguire fumbled the week before but we'll forget about that just like we forget about Anderson's weekly drops...

I def think Anderson has the ability to be our deep threat but he needs to be working on that jug machine everyday.

Elijah looks promising as well, but again its been 4 weeks. Schedule has been lackluster. Lets see what happens when we have to face the Chiefs, Falcons, Bucs, Broncos, Panthers.......

Elijah McGuire reached a max speed of 21.74 MPH on his 69-yard TD run, the fastest speed by a ball carrier in Week 4

Look. You wanna tell me pump my breaks? Well let me tell you something with all due respect. Don't tell others how they should feel as a fan.

Robby Anderson imo is a gem of an undrafted player. Of course he's going to drop passes he's a freaking raw 2nd year kid. But dating back to last year how many undrafted WR's has racked up 54 receptions for 791 receiving yards & 3 TD's (with shit QB's)? Please. Tell me because id love to know. He's already emerging as an NFL deep threat and everything we could've asked for out of Devin Smith out of OSU.

And in regards to Elijah McGuire many of us fell in love with his running style during the preseason; his Jacksonville performance was just an indicator of the talent and potential we've all taken note of. This kid has real deal running back skill sets.

You don't agree? Cool. But pump your breaks on telling people "just how wrong" we really are.

Powell & Elijah need to be our 1-2 punch moving forward as Forte is a shell of what he once was, on the tail end of his career and no longer has the athletic ability to make defenders miss tackles one on one within the open field.

You are right, the OL did their job and opened up a huge hole, Mcguire was intelligent and quick enough to capitalise on that hole, he then had the stamina to run the ball to the house, not every RB can do such a thing from so far out.

If that had been Cook or Fournette then folks would have been all over it.

exactly. And yes the offensive line created a big hole but fans who don't understand the HB position weren't able to take note of his initial patience followed by his quick acceleration into 2nd gear. It was a thing of beauty. His field vision once he broke into the next level was top notch too.

Also. Outside of his 60+ yard run i seen a lot of impressive quick cuts on the dime with many of his runs. This kid is a ball player.

his patience??? it was a zone run. That's what the play calls the running back to do. So he merely did his job until he was 10 yards down the field untouched and had to shake the safety.

An NFL running back ought to be able to shake a standing safety like that in the open field with a head of steam and nothing but grass around him. Hell, we saw Oakland do it twice to us just a couple weeks ago.

again, I'm not knocking the guy, I am positive about his future. I'm just saying anyone would've taken that and he's not the story of that touchdown. The hole was massive!

Those were the same holes Terrel Davis used to run through, he's a HOF but if we like Elijah for doing the same thing we need to pump the brakes?

How many runs of those calibers is it going to take before I can let go of the brakes as a jet fan and be excited about Elijah?

Anyone would have taken that? I don't think that's true even a little bit. And yes, the fact that he was the fastest RB in the league Sunday makes this somewhat about him. Matt Forte isn't taking that to the house. Or Ivory. Or Shonn Greene. Or any RB we've had not named Bilal since Leon Washington.

I don't know the answer to your second question. I mean you can be excited all you want but me? I'm gonna say I need more than ONE of those runs before I start crowning him.

Terrell Davis 65 career touchdowns by the way

Nope I disagree. I do think most running backs would've taken that including the guys you mention--

And fastest running back in the league? See this is what I mean about pumping the brakes a little.

You should look a few posts up. He was literally measured as the fastest runner of any runner on Sunday.

That alone tells you how likely it is that the aforementioned RBs would have broken away. He beat two guys down the field... Forte is beating no one.

No crap measurements will show he was the fastest runner! He's the only guy who had an opportunity to sprint untouched for 70 yards! That's my point

I mean Powell sprinted about 50 untouched after getting back up so...

Right... one guy falls down and gets back up. Another doesn't. Gee I wonder who is going to be faster?

In match week 4 I believe, maybe somebody faster didn't play.

Facts are facts at the end of the day, if they say he ran the fastest then he is the fastest that game week, I believe the other poster intimated that in his post as well.

Do we start getting excited on 64 TD's if he gets that far or do we remain stoic and reserved until he has proven he is a HOF RB

Or do we get a little excited because we may have plucked a bargain up from the lower rounds for a change, I don't think anybody is calling him the king just yet though.

Oh and as for Forte running it to the house, would he have somebody running alongside him with an oxygen mask and maybe the trolley as well tbh ;)

I'm not the one who compared him to Terrell Davis. That's an unfair comparison

Do you not think Powell could have hit top speed in 50 yards then ?

For a guy only pumping the brakes a little you seem more intent on slamming on the anchors full stop, can you not be happy that we may have snapped up a future star, the big emphasis is on the maybe but it is a good start for the kid all the same.
