Elephant In The Room: NFL Investigation of Edwards

Goodell is an ex-Jet (front office) and I think he does the best he can to appear impartial in all cases involving them. So far he has found the Pats guilty based on charges pressed by the Jets and suspended Calvin Pace for 4 games for offseason infractions and Shaun Ellis for 1 game for minor drug infractions. Not sure how this or the tampering charges will come down though.

 

Isn't safe to assume the tampering charges probably won't be going anywhere at this point? If the Jets were in danger of being punished for it, certainly it would involve draft picks. I don't think the league would have allowed them to trade picks to the Browns if they were still in danger of being penalized.

 

Goodell got his start with the Jets, so I doubt he has it in for the team. If Edwards is suspended, it will be for slugging a stranger on a street outside of a nightclub in the early morning rather than for the jersey he's wearing. Edwards being suspended is one of the things Tanny should have been considering when he was working on this trade.

 

Has he gotten in trouble before?

 

I don't think he's had any other legal issues. He's just a punk.

 

He was on espn for a week a couple years ago and he sounded like a complete professional

 

If he doesn't suspend Cable then he can't possibly suspend Edwards

 

120 mph speeding ticket. Aside from that, just hated his former locker room.

I think that if he hit a guy in the head for saying "have a good night" he will see a suspension! I just hope it comes next year!

It just doesn't make sense.

 

That's probably how it ended but I'm guessing that there is a lot more to it than that.

 

This is what the dude said happened,

"After the club closed, I was outside greeting and saying goodbye to people. Braylon comes up and started saying things, degrading me," Givens told the Plain-Dealer. "He said if it wasn't for LeBron [James] or the Four Horsemen, I wouldn't have what I have, nor would I be able to get girls. Everyone knows Braylon has a problem with LeBron. So I had to speak up for myself. The conversation started to escalate. As some of his teammates started to pull him back, he punched me. I have a black eye and a cut. I'm not a violent guy.

"As long as I've known Braylon, I've allowed him and his friends to come into our events free of charge. Whatever jealousy he has with LeBron, he felt he needed to take it out on me."

 

Actually I think that one was a plus. He won't be late for practices.

 

At least he didn't shoot the bouncer or himself.

So in that respect he's already a step up from Plax. Someone from NY should go pay that tiny bouncer a visit to make sure he doesn't talk, lol.

 

apparently rotoworld says it was someone from edwards 'entourage' who got in the fight, not braylon himself. we will see.

 

oh god i hope thats true. then hopefully its nothing more than a dumb fine
