Yep, and a new coach will not take that chance. Agreed.

We'll need the money to sign our new QB!

Couldn't agree more. The Jets are in no shape to be making a play at the Edge. This is a signing a team makes who's on the cusp of contending or getting to the next level. Unfortunatly, we won't be there in a few years, thus he'll play out his contact and max the cap for a losing team. Best bet is to draft a RB, or address the issue next year in the offseason.

There was a thread about Willie McGinist coming here too. Same type of deal. They are good players and probably would do good here but they aren't the guys to build around. We will more than likely go young and stay away from the guys that can put a team over the top. Like Ty Law was supposed to do for us last year.

A team that is under going a major rebuild doesn't need an RB with a ton of mileage on his wheels already. I could see him in Seattle if SA walks. Carolina or jacksonville would work too, but not the Jets.... just don't see it at all.

At that position we need to make do with what we already have, especially since Martin just restructured. The most economical use of Martin is to get our final money's worth and alternate him with Houston. We don't need James, we've got other areas to address.

Edge is not on the good character guy list.Wouldn't be a good first big move by the new regime.

Good, 'cause then we don't have to explain to him why we don't want him here on our payroll and salary Cap.

Drinking cocoa with little marshmallows in it while wearing my toasty monkey socks. Edge: JETS. I...what? Rebuilding. Right.

No way we get Edge as much as I would love to have him hear. He would cost us too much to sign him we just dont have the money.

Don't want him, don't need him. He's also a luxury player.
