I agree that Tanny got complacent, but I think the example of what if we went (insert record the progressively gets better) is misleading. Of course that would be better, winning more games is better.

The Jets thought they were Super Bowl contenders when they were really playoff contenders. Even thinking Sanchez would break out in his 3rd year doesn't excuse not giving him weapons. Most other young QBs get players added around them to help them out. We decided to add, take away, and try to add again

my example of reversing our outcomes just goes to show me that the management of this team has been rubbish.

our drafting position was bad because of the a AFCCG appearances while also mismanaging the cap and getting on par with the rest of the league

Except for Holmes has probably dropped as many passes as he has caught, Keller hasn't played a single down this year, and Hill has dropped his fair number of passes as well.

It all goes back to the Gholston pick for me. We hit on a pass rusher, and wow. We missed on that badly.

I thought Tanny did well in 2009-2010. I thought Tanny did go managing the cap in 2010 with the dead money. Then the chase for Nnamdi set us back. Could have snagged Jonathon Joseph and Braylon and Tone. Then this past one I think he did ok to below average.

Throw in draft, we went Wilson, Wilkerson, Coples. I am not upset with Wilkerson/Wilson. Late 1st rounders. Coples/Wilkerson are way too early to judge, especially Coples.

It's weird because one play here or there last year and we make the playoffs. How would the Jets have handled everything? Would thE Hunter problem have come front and center with another playoff appearance? Etc.

The Jets haven't done a good job rebuilding on the fly. And so here we are. Having ?s at LB, QB, RB, WR #2.

The only thing missing is the Start Tebow now portion of the Rant. I remember going to the Championship game back in 98 and loosing . I thought to myself I will never get back to this point ever...That sucks! Then 09 comes around and I say Holy god I will really never see this day come again. Then 2010 , Holy Fuck Nutt! Does the torture ever end or is this really hell and this is my reality for eternity.

Here's what I have learned as a Jets Fan . When we win it all it will be some magical run that is not backed up by their play. Similar to the way the Giants seem to win it . They suck and then all of a sudden their good and make the run.

Success didn't kill them ! Not cultivating our young talent and hoping to get one more year out of a close to thirtysomething player is what did it.

The Jets are going to win on a BS call or a lateral play at the end or some miraculous feat where all offseason the "experts" can say the Jets were the luckiest or worst SB winning team ever. But we would be a SB winning team.

08 was the year we should got our QB but we went for the name

jump in front of Atlanta by trading our 1st, 2nd and 5th and taking Matty Ice then in the 4th take Jacob Tamme and though it would be a small draft since we lost our 3rd and 5th to Jenkins and our 2nd eventually trading up I think our team doesn't go through that wash year with Favre and we then take 09 and get some weapons

we likely end up with top 10 pick in 2009 so there we can draft Clay Matthews in the 1st, LeSean McCoy in the 2nd and instead of trading up for Greene we actually get guys in the 3rd and 4th whom can help

I know I'm using hindsight but this is how I felt in 08, start over now, Favre is what set us back

Wow. That's some plan you've got there. I wish we had a way back machine so we could go back and fire Tanny and then hire you to be GM.
