Give Robby $15 mill and we will have to sit out that 2020 FA class :(

Oh yeah, they aren't hitting free agency. I don't even factor them in. Golladay is a beast though, dude produces no matter who is throwing to him.

JD just has to be smart with the contracts ... it's all about guaranteed money and how that money is allocated. I don't want the Jets to be FA winners anymore, use the FA to provide stability and use the draft to get your blue chip talent.

none even as close to as good except cooper who will cost close to 20mil a year and likely not leaving dallas anyway. the FA WR group this year is awful

I could see kupp leaving. they have cooks and woods already and gurley and a lot of money tied up on D plus goffs contract. I can't see galladay or godwin going anywhere though

Watkins said he might just "chill out" if they win the Super Bowl. Not for anything but he's a walking injury and that questions motivation IMO.

I'm a little skewed because I had a friend of a friend situation that worked for the Bills when Watkins was drafted and he supposedly would want to sit out if he had a small bruise on his forearm. Far from a gamer. And it went way beyond a player protecting themselves. For lack of a better way of saying it; he was a pussy.

watkins is making 16mil a year. more then robby wants and isn't as good as robby.
allison isn't good at all. a WR3/4 at best
both WRs have HOF Qbs (mahomes and rodgers) in high powered offenses and still don't produce more then robby.

I came here expecting to find 10 pages about the report that Bardys camp says theyve had interest from 11 teams - one of which was the Jets...but nuthin! I dont think id dig that if I was a jets fan. Seems like just another monkey wrench in the way of progress imo

like a lot of this logic but don't have the same love for Robbie to remotely think "all costs".

Watkins isn’t getting 16 if he gets cut after the season. Which is likely if they re up mahomes.
You read where i said if Robbie walks right? And Watkins won’t make 16 m in his next contract. He’s going to take a cut to stay with the chiefs or be released so what he makes now is irrelevant. Both of the receivers I listed are viable options if we have to dip into the pool for help. Heck I’d sign Allison either way , nice depth and has experience with a qb that likes to scramble and throw off schedule.

yeah watkins will take a cut for sure, but not a huge one. I doubt he'd be much cheaper then robby. maybe 2-3 mil tops. I'd rather have robby

Depends on the number. I’d rather have Watkins at 12-13 than Robbie at 15-16.

i wouldn't want that drop off for an oft injured WR. 3 mil isn't much. it's barely enough to sign a kicker. not to mention sam and robby have played together for 2 years and have chemistry already. watkins hasn't topped 600 yards in 3 seasons and didn't top 700 in 4 seasons. the last 2 he's played with the MVP QB in 2018 and SB MVP QB in 2019. as a number 2 with hill and kelce taking most the attention off him. he isn't a number 1. yeah robby isn't either but he's sued to double teams already and still outproducing watkins

I wouldn't be upset either to have this giant man one of the tackle positions for a decade. The Jets are long overdue for an influx of young talent along the OL.

I don’t think he is a top option or anything but Nelson agholor will be pretty cheap. Is only 26 years old and has an 8 td season just a few years ago..

I know his drops are an issue but I think it’s slightly overblown , I mean Alshon Jeffry had a similar drop rate last year.

I would only want him if he was dirt cheap though, but I do think it’s a decent under the radar option
