I consider a lot of the people around here my friends...I have no point to add to what has already been said. Im not thrilled about Chatham signing..but he could be a good ST'er and a nice back up. I have said that already. My point is that when someone comes across here like a punk...they will be called on it. Many people have started threads that read "Mangini isnt God". Do you think your the first? This has been rehashed more times than I care to remember. My point is that you come across like a punk. A smartass. You want blow jobs and call people jerkoffs because they dont want to play by YOUR rules. Im just here to tell you that when you act like an asshole...you will be treated like one...easy to understand right?
I think hotcoles is really just Heimerdinger in disguise. Don't worry Dinger I'm sure you would do a better job than one of the pats totally unproven coaches.
Maybe not starting material, but still solid... good pick-up as a back-up/starter with a possible upside to being a starter Some would call you a flip-flopper
Absolutely-- and i love the challenge of defending my opinions, and myself. I don;t post this so I can apologize all night and feel bad. Its fun. Its just sad that the only way someone can get at me it to attach my character, not my football opinion.
It is!! The guy knows football- he has seen him play, I have not-- why wouldn't I let that influence my opinion? I still have most of my opinion based on his previous role, and age though.
huh? I have to explain this again? I will go slower for you. He is a good-pick as a back-up/ST..ok you understand. A solid signing from a logistical stand-point for this team...ok you understand that. Maybe not starting material (I say that because i do not have an ego and can admit when i am not sure abtou something), meaning possibly (which the same as saying a back-up with the possible upside of starting one day). Every player should be signed because he might be capable of starting, either for one game or 16. By very definition a "back-up" starter has to have the potential to start. Otherwise you are just filling roster spots, which makes for a crappy team. Why is this such a difficult concept to understand?
Thats like standing next to a person that hasnt showered in a year and him stating "Everyone wants to talk about how bad I smell and not the shoes Im wearing" Your admitting its more important to get a rise out of people instead of the facts you present. Good luck with that philosophy. Just dont call people jerkoffs...you might last longer.
To me, when someone says, "maybe not starting material" that means, "ok, I admit, he is not a starter but he can still be an OK backup at 29."
Great point about the smelly guy with the shoes. If I can't get a real football response, i will take on any personal challanges available.
Oh, I understand. We should just take your word for it, because we should just believe that this friend is such a well of football knowledge. Like stating your friend told you lends any credibilit to your argument. You say people are saying this is a GREAT signing, but they have never seen him play, and you have to keep everyone in check. But you are doing the same thing, you have NEVER seen him play by your own admission, and are basing your judgement on what someone else tells you. What makes that any different from what you are accusing others of doing? It is useless, I am going to retire to the safety of the bullshit forum where sanity prevails. Hope you and your ego have a nice life together.
So to keep this on a football level....its better to pick up backups that are OK..but much younger...is that what your bringing to the table? OR...do you like backups that are superstars...like madden. What make believe world do you prefer your backups to come from.
Okay, since I guess none of us really get it, I thought I'd just break down hotcole's initial post and see if I can uncover these nuggets of intellectual gold: Excellent way to open a post and share your ULTRA INTELLIGENCE. People respond well to being told they are brainwashed. Now this is a brilliant piece of analytical work. No one but you could have told me any of this. Especially the age of our coach. On this point I agree, but for the sake of your theme, let's argue: You keep telling us that you have in-depth knowledge of how much of a 'bum' Chatham is, yet you haven't mentioned why. EVER. Except to say he isn't good enough. Well, that's not good enough. Enlighten us, Stat Boy. I think a 10 year old could have written this part. This is something I've read on ESPN.com about 9000 times. This, I think, is the closest you come to actually stating an intelligent opinion in this entire windy post. But it's still a layman's opinion. Some people like to hope in the offseason. Crushing that hope is the act of a bully, and that's the type of people I 'bash', as you so unimaginatively put it. Welcome. This post is a synopsis of the general public opinion on TGG.com... there are people that disagree with it vocally, but the larger number of people who post not-so-vocal opinions I've seen fall within this range. I am convinced of it. So, the people you think are brainwashed are actually in agreement with you. But you don't care, because you glean what annoys you off the title of a thread and maybe a few posts and you make a snap judgment on the entire board. Well, you are uninteresting, predictable, and really just not worth any more typing tonight. I'm going to sleep. But the next time I come back, I'll be sure to make you look stupid again. G'night.
OH MY GOD. Okay, I was about to go to bed, but I must respond to this. You spout all through this thread about your amazing football knowledge and your insane research and how no one's opinion will sway you... and you know how good the guy is by ASKING PATS FANS THEIR OPINIONS? You are a waste of time.
I don't care about the age. I want every player on the roster to be fully capable of starting if need be, 1 game or 16 it doesn't matter. Maybe he is not a starter because of injury, or he might not be able to last 16 games just 5, or he has a little more to learn, etc. What gives a team depth and makes them championship caliber? If a star player is hurt, I want his backup to come in and immediately start and the team not miss a step. If he can not start at any given moment, he should be on the practice squad, not the official roster.
WOW...didnt see the pats fan thing abyz....May I be the first to declare...that your cheating..thats right..your cheating on this test. You should have warned us that you asked Pats fans the answers before testing us. NOT FAIR.
Oh and by the way, I have stated many times, I thought the Jets should have re-signed Brown and Wright. But there is not reason why Catham is not a good signing as well. One does not exclude the other.
