Wilford and Williams simply aren't that good. There will be a few plays when their size just dominates; there has to be, but if they were that good, their passing game wouldn't suck.
Although Coleman may not be better I'm glad its not Miller thats out there. I happen to think that Barrett is an alright corner. Maybe we could see Eric Smith there hes 6'1~209. I don't know how quick he is though , bet he could give a good bump in the 5 though. Rashad Washington could cover corner too and at 6'1~217 would be better suited to cover Wilford and let Dyson cover Williams.
That's what I'm afraid of. Their passing game would usually suck for the most part of the game, but every now and then, they'll explode with huge chunks of yards through the air. They have that penchant for big plays and the Jets secondary just loves to get burned (especially if Miller were back there). That's an awfully worrisome combo for us Jet fans.
You have to think Mangini will rotate the secondary and throw the jags a bunch of different looks but if he lets Big Byron get comfortable he will burn us all day long.
But that happens against any team. There's going to be a few plays, probably for first downs, and maybe for one touchdown, where you just say, "Well, what can you do, they're 6'4." But I still don't see if they're going to move down the field on a consistent basis. Jones-Drew and Taylor are getting too much credit around here lately. They aren't that great.
i said it 2 weeks ago.. drew coleman was starting to stand out nothing suprising.. he reminds me of tarrance mcgee in buffalo a waterbug type.
I would be scared as hell if Rashad Washington or Eric Smith was stuck in coverage vs a slot receiver, let alone a #2.
im all for it if hes gonna help the team out. i agree Jmiller has been playin horrible for us period.
Miller being demoted is a good thing. He has not played well from scrimmage. I never cared much for him and didn't want him to be drafted by the Jets. Drew Coleman has actually looked pretty good.
yea dude iwas just gonna make that point coleman is fricken 5 9 which really means he is 5 8 and wilford is 6'5'' at the least its gonna be a tough matchup lets see who has some balls
agree but we were gonna have that same problem no matter what CB'S we started on sunday. wilford and williams are tall WR's. no matter what we have 2 pressure the QB 2 take pressure of the secondary.
Erm, I'm sure he would if Barrett was able to go. The guy's hurt, what do you want them to do, wheel him out in a cart?
I don't think theres an issue here. If we play a cover 2 type zone the FS/SS will pick up the pieces. Let them try.
