Don't do this to me man, I get anxiety n shit lol ... please dont make me feel like I felt when we drafted Hack ... I swore in my mind it wouldn't happen, but it did. I almost passed out.
I'll do it to you. Matthieu will string us along for a week, then sign somewhere else. But that will give you an appetite for a SUPER Secondary. You'll spend a week going between a QB and Minkah. Then we'll draft some dumbass that has no business in the first round. Then you'll pass out.
It'll be Barkely falling to us and everybody will be okay with it. But then it'll turn out that Barkely is actually Blair Thomas
you just had to come back didn't you? No one else would bring this scenario up. seriously fuck Minkah, just like I said fuck Lattimore last year. But then again trading up and drafting Josh Allen would put a lovely cap on the night
I believe the Jets' don't trade up for a QB. Depends on what slides to them is what they do. (G) Nelson is an option as well as (DE) Chubb. Beyond that, if there is a stud QB they like that is there, they will take a QB to possibly pair with Teddy long term(re-signed if he pans out well). Petty+ Hack will be cut. -If Nelson is taken, Carpenter will be cut and Jets look at QB/DE/RB for their 2 picks in the 2nd rd. -If Chubb is taken, Price could be an option early 2nd as he can play G/C, just like the guy we signed from Washington and having that flexabilty is a treasure, especially with talented guys. If Price is early 2nd.. the pick mid 2nd could be Falk at QB, or stud RB. -If Jets take QB in 1st, Price again is in play early 2 and for mid 2nd, RB or DE will be in play.
Not only will we draft Fitzpatrick at # 6 but just like last year we will take another guy at the same position in round 2 (Jaire Alexander?) like we did last year. Then we can use our other second rounder on a DE to replace Mo (or Sheldon). On the bright side we can finally cur Buster Skrine. Just think how happy Bowles will be.
That's Brandon Weeden. As you know I'm a fan of Luke Falk, one of my fellow gang green brethren said Luke Falk is the next Brandon Weeden. So I'm paying tribute to him.
He has 3 years remaining. The 2 additional years may have been added just for a scenario like this. Gives a year to add talent and 2019 could be his deadline for finding a FQB. Not going to be popular with the fan base but very likely the reasoning behind the extension. I think Hack gets this season to complete before he is released. Adding an early 1 next year would put the Jets in a great position to move up and hopefully there will be several less holes to fill by then.
I don't disagree with you. In the grand scheme they'll probably trade up to get one and that would be ok. I guess I believe the more picks you have the better chance in the lottery. I think too I am higher on Lamar Jackson than others. So I might be more willing to wait and see. If it was me I'd be willing to trade back a few but make sure I am ahead of the Dolphins and Cardinals and get Jackson a few spots back. That's why they pay Mac and the scouts the big bucks and not me.
Pretty sure that was Goff, but thought the price was too steep..... I could be wrong though * but at least it shows he has some eye for QB ..... but also stubborness to hold on (Hackencough)
I understand your position. Generally, the more picks one has the better one's chances of helping one's team. As a rule, I don't like trading up. I hated when Tanny did it all the time. I just think the Jets have to get a QB and I'm not high on Jackson at all. I really like Mayfield, Rosen and Darnold. Those are the only 3 QBs I like in this draft, and each of them has their drawbacks.
If the Jets wouldn't overpay to trade up for Wentz/Goff, do we really think we are going to overpay to trade up this year?
Why not? It’s a lot different going from 20 to 1 or 2 than it is going from 6 to 2, 3 or 4. I don’t think Mac will overpay to trade up, that doesn’t mean he won’t trade up.
According to this chart: https://www.drafttek.com/NFL-Trade-Value-Chart.asp The Jets could trade #6, #49 and #72 to the Colts for the #3 pick. Not too bad if it means you get the franchise QB you want. Now, with a year like this, wouldn't shock me if it cost much more due to teams like the Bills and Cardinals also trying to trade up.
