Great, it's a lot of fun!!! my draft went like this.... #18 WR MARQISE LEE USC #49 TE AUSTIN SEFERIAN-JENKINS WASHINGTON #69 WR BRANDIN COOKS OREGON STATE #80 S CRAIG LOSTON LSU #111 OG CHRIS BURNETTE GEORGIA #142 QB AARON MURRAY GEORGIA #179 TE MARCEL JENSEN FRESNO STATE #210 P KIRBY VAN DER KAMP IOWA STATE No value at OLB or CB, but I'd be pretty happy with that draft!!!
glad a lot of folks are enjoying the site. One things I've noticed in playing with it now is that If you trade down much your drafting score will drop. I've never scored higher than a C on any draft where I traded down more than 3 or 4 times in the entire draft and never more than a B if I traded down more than once in the first round. regarding comments about the site. It's set up as a game, as many of you have mentioned, so there's not much room to bitch and as was pointed out by another poster no two sites, or people, are ever going to agree fully about team needs and prospect ratings. At least the site indicates what it terms as postions of need so that gives us a leg up. I'm probably wasting far more time on this site than I should be but damn it's fun. The problem is fitting in time to play the game between my day job and my startup company. fortunately each game plays pretty quick. Sadly I'm a trade down fan so I get burnt on my scores, must must must resist the offer of a 1st and 2nd to move down 2 slots....
BTW if you want a really wild draft play the Rams, on two occasions I've wound up with 3 first round picks because the Browns traded both first rounders to move up for Bridgewater.
Glad to hear your scores have improved. Congrats on getting both I agree that Folk is good. When I tried to draft Boswell, I was trying to "game" the game too! Yeah, they just don't like Lawrence for whatever reason. Scout.com has him rated as about the 6th or 7th best DE out of around 14. I don't know anything about him, but he must project to a 4-3 DE rather than as a OLB or 3-4 DE, or they just simply don't think he has much potential. I only took him once, and it was in the 7th round, I think, and got a D+. Congrats on the C+. Maybe their opinion of him is improving. LOL I understand where you're coming from regarding RBs, and basically agree. Even though they're more important with the Jets than perhaps most teams, I just don't think that you need to take them very high. Again, however, if the top RB drops to the middle of the 3rd round and there aren't any red flags as to why he dropped, it would be very difficult for me to pass him up based on value. I'd really hope that I could trade down or that I had another prospect or two rated just as highly as the RB.
I don't know about this. Really. In my best draft [where I scored about 4200 pts] I traded down about 4 times in 1st round alone - and picked up 2nd round pick in each of the 4 trades. [19, 21, 22, 25] I think I had x1 1st round pick at 32nd [which I used to pick Marqise Lee], and x5 2nd round picks and x8 3rd rounders. In total, I traded down about 14 times or so. P.S. About the 'future' draft picks: When I packaged the low round picks - I think about 4-5 of them - for a future 1st rounder, I got C for getting 1 pick. I am expecting you should get more than 1 of them to get A out of it.
got some great value in this one. 18 TE ERIC EBRON UNC 49 WR KELVIN BENJAMIN FLORIDA STATE 69 RB LACHE SEASTRUNK BAYLOR 80 OLB JEREMIAH ATTAOCHU GEORGIA TECH 111 S TRE BOSTON NORTH CAROLINA 142 QB DAVID FALES SAN JOSE STATE 179 S TY ZIMMERMAN KANSAS STATE 210 WR L’DAMIAN WASHINGTON MISSOURI
I love this one. Manziel with Benjamin and Niklas would be sick. huge fan of Smith and Allen too. Abbrederis is great value at that pick.

I like the selection in general too.
would love this draft if you remove seferian-jenkins. love the evans pick, if we got him at 18 id be doing backflips. id also be upset if we dont trade one of our picks for either multiple picks next year or a pick in a higher round next year.
18 WR MIKE EVANS TEXAS A&M 49 S AHMAD DIXON BAYLOR 69 G GABE JACKSON MISSISSIPPI STATE 80 CB CHRIS DAVIS AUBURN 111 QB DAVID FALES SAN JOSE STATE 142 OT KEVIN GRAF USC 179 OLB JORDAN TRIPP MONTANA 210 RB DRI ARCHER KENT STATE I dont think evans will be there at 18 but id be happy with this draft.
In this draft, I pretty much ignored their listed needs and picked players that I thought could really help the Jets. I expected to get blasted for it, but still got an A- for my draft and finished 3rd. I'd take this draft over any one I've seen to date. Round 1 Pick 18: Mike Evans, WR, Texas A&M (A) Round 2 Pick 20 (ARI): Odell Beckham, WR, LSU (B) Round 3 Pick 7: C.J. Fiedorowicz, TE, Iowa (A) Round 3 Pick 18: Craig Loston, SS, LSU (A) Round 3 Pick 20 (ARI): Victor Hampton, CB, South Carolina (A-) Round 4 Pick 18: Jeremiah Attaochu, OLB, Georgia Tech (A) Round 5 Pick 18: Max Bullough, ILB, Michigan State (A-) Round 6 Pick 18: Kirby Van Der Kamp, P, Iowa State (A) Round 7 Pick 18: Rajion Neal, RB, Tennessee (A) The only two positions not addressed were FS and OG, and when comp picks are added, those two could easily be addressed. The first three picks and the last pick would totally change the Jets' offense. The second four would potentially help take the D to the next level. Adding a great punter would help STs, as should Attaochu and Hampton, and perhaps Loston.
I'd also sign up for this draft. Round 1 Pick 25 (S.D.): Austin Seferian-Jenkins, TE, Washington (B) Round 2 Pick 19 (MIA): Jordan Matthews, WR, Vanderbilt (A-) Round 2 Pick 25 (S.D.): Anthony Steen, OG, Alabama (A-) Round 3 Pick 7: Ahmad Dixon, SS, Baylor (A) Round 3 Pick 18: Michael Sam, DE, Missouri (A) Round 3 Pick 25 (S.D.): David Fales, QB, San Jose State (A) Round 4 Pick 18: Joel Bitonio, OT, Nevada (A-) Round 4 Pick 19 (MIA): Jeremiah Attaochu, OLB, Georgia Tech (A) Round 5 Pick 18: Ross Cockrell, CB, Duke (A-) Round 6 Pick 18: J.C. Copeland, FB, LSU (A) Round 7 Pick 18: Kirby Van Der Kamp, P, Iowa State (A) While I'm not that wild about S-J, by trading down from #18, I got him, Steen and Fales. By trading down from #18 in the 2nd round, I got Matthews and Attaochu. Shored up the OL and secondary.
(1) 18 WR MARQISE LEE USC (2) 49 S HA’SEAN CLINTON-DIX ALABAMA (3) 69 OG XAVIER SU’A-FILO UCLA (3) 80 CB ANTONE EXUM VIRIGNIA TECH (4) 111 OT AUSTIN WENTWORTH FRESNO STATE (5) 142 QB AARON MURRAY GEORGIA (6) 179 WR JOSH HUFF OREGON (7) 210 ILB GLENN CARSON PENN STATE A draft that'd make me pretty damn happy.
Your Picks: Round 1 Pick 30 (S.F.): Austin Seferian-Jenkins, TE, Washington (B+) Round 2 Pick 18: Jordan Matthews, WR, Vanderbilt (A-) Round 2 Pick 24 (CINN): Odell Beckham, WR, LSU (B+) Round 2 Pick 30 (S.F.): Chris Watt, OG, Notre Dame (B) Round 3 Pick 7: Kyle Van Noy, OLB, Brigham Young (A) Round 3 Pick 20 (ARI): Adrian Hubbard, OLB, Alabama (A) Round 3 Pick 22 (PHI): Ahmad Dixon, SS, Baylor (A) Round 3 Pick 25 (S.D.): Dion Bailey, FS, Southern California (A) Round 4 Pick 18: A.J. McCarron, QB, Alabama (A) Round 4 Pick 20 (ARI): Jeremy Hill, RB, LSU (A) Round 4 Pick 22 (PHI): Jon Halapio, OG, Florida (A-) Round 4 Pick 25 (S.D.): Jeremiah Attaochu, OLB, Georgia Tech (A-) Round 5 Pick 18: Rashaad Reynolds, CB, Oregon State (A-) Round 6 Pick 18: Ricardo Allen, CB, Purdue (B+) Round 7 Pick 18: Kirby Van Der Kamp, P, Iowa State (A) Too Madden-esque, but I can live with this. Offense was addressed in round 1/2; 3 round was a full-scale defense. Only if Jets could have this many picks.
My most recent: TE ERIC EBRON WR BRANDIN COOKS WR JARVIS LANDRY S CRAIG LOSTON DE SCOTT CRICHTON QB JIMMY GAROPPOLO RB LADARIUS PERKINS OT WESLEY JOHNSON
Just had my favorite draft yet. 1. Khalil Mack, OLB, Buffalo 2. Austin Seferian-Jenkins, TE, Washington 3. Davante Adams, WR, Fresno State 3. Ed Reynolds, FS, Stanford 4. Ka'Deem Carey, RB, Arizona 5. De'Anthony Thomas, RB, Oregon 6. Victor Hampton, CB, USC 7. Logan Thomas, QB/TE, Virginia Tech
Dream Draft! 18 TE ERIC EBRON - Big game player that elevates his play in key situations. He reminds me of Dennis Pita. UNC 49 WR KELVIN BENJAMIN - After watching film he is the 2nd best WR in the draft next to Sammy. He is a miss match nightmare and IMO is Julio Jones 2.0 FLORIDA STATE 69 DE CHRIS SMITH - Simply a beast on the outside! Rex would find a way to dial him up as a OLB ala Coples. ARKANSAS 80 QB A.J. MCCARRON - All he does in win... That mentality alone in the dressing room is positive. Not to mention our only SB winning QB was a Bama boy ALABAMA 111 DT DAQUAN JONES - A steal in the 4th round! Add to our depth and take this beast as the BPA. Always good to have young bucks push Wilks/Richie. PENN STATE 142 S KENNY LADLER - Take a flyer on a position of need. Shows really good ball awareness and can move. Boom or Bust pick! VANDERBILT 179 WR JOSH HUFF - Absolute STEAL in the 6th round!!! Huff has speed to burn and is a big play down field guy. OREGON 210 OG ZACH FULTON - Addresses need and depth. Fulton is a strong man with good hands. He is a top 10 G easily in the draft with potential to start or at least push Winters to be better. TENNESSEE Summary: Would be a dream draft that addresses big holes on our team and fills them with quality players. Having Ebron as a safety net, Benjamin as a legit red zone miss match and Huff with speed on the outside our receiving core just got a HUGE shot in the arm it needs! Rex gets a few new toys on D which he loves. A lot of people feel AJ wont be great BUT he is already great... The kid is a winner and the Jets have nothing but a late 3rd rounder to loose... Worth the gamble!
Not my best draft score I've gotten in the draft game but overall it's my favorite draft of players I've had. I missed the CB I wanted, I tried to trade up to get him but the offer was rejected so I took Gaines instead and I missed the RB I wanted in round 3 by 1 pick slot and I also missed the OT I wanted so I took my favorite developmental QB prospect, but overall I'd be happy with the draft...though I traded down in the first more than most would appreciate or would likely happen in reality. Your score is: 4055 (Drafting Ability: B, Player Quality A, Future Draft Picks: N/A) Your Picks: Round 1 Pick 30 (S.F.): Jace Amaro, TE, Texas Tech (B+) Round 2 Pick 17: Gabe Jackson, OG, Mississippi State (A-) Round 2 Pick 29 (S.F.): Jordan Matthews, WR, Vanderbilt (A) Round 3 Pick 5: Ahmad Dixon, SS, Baylor (A) Round 3 Pick 12 (DET): E.J. Gaines, CB, Missouri (A) Round 3 Pick 16: Charles Sims, RB, West Virginia (A) Round 3 Pick 20 (ARI): Dee Ford, OLB, Auburn (B+) Round 4 Pick 6 (CLE): Terrence Brooks, FS, Florida State (A) Round 4 Pick 11 (DET): Zach Mettenberger, QB, LSU (A) Round 4 Pick 15: Donte Moncrief, WR, Ole Miss (A) Round 5 Pick 30 (S.F.): Kareem Martin, DE, North Carolina (D+) Round 6 Pick 19: Kirby Van Der Kamp, P, Iowa State (A) Round 6 Pick 29 (S.F.): Chris Boswell, K, Rice (A) Round 7 Pick 18: De'Anthony Thomas, RB, Oregon (B-) Your Future Picks: 2015 Round 1 Pick 2016 Round 1 Pick
My most recent. Not really sure I like it to be honest. Got some good value with Adams and Carey though and thought getting a good punter would be a plus. Double dipping at TE might not have been smart though. 18 TE ERIC EBRON UNC 49 WR KELVIN BENJAMIN FLORIDA STATE 69 WR DAVANTE ADAMS FRESNO STATE 80 RB KA’DEEM CAREY ARIZONA 111 S TERRENCE BROOKS FLORIDA STATE 142 OLB JORDAN TRIPP MONTANA 179 TE JOE DON DUNCAN DIXIE STATE 210 P KIRBY VAN DER KAMP IOWA STATE I have concluded that we have to use our first two picks as TE/WR or WR/TE, maybe S if an amazing FS is available and it's insanely good value. Otherwise, in these mocks at least, most of the good WRs and TEs are gone by mid-third round and it's slim picking from there.
I like that draft better than most I've seen in this thread. I love all the additional picks, you addressed most, if not all, of the biggest needs, and you got very good value with some of the players. I don't know much about Gaines, Sims, Brooks, Moncrief or Boswell, so can't comment on them. I'm not a big fan of Amaro, but getting him at #30 seems like excellent value, so can't complain too much, plus he would add a big target with some speed at TE.
