We need the following: A TE to compliment Keller, OL depth, A pass rushing OLB, and Safety help for Leonard, plus an additional WR.
Welker will not come here and I don't even think I would want him. VJax is probably the best FA WR coming available. I'd like Braylon back as well but I don't think we will ever see him in green again. Also of concern is the knee injury and how it would affect him as a deep threat and his blocking. These first round WRs are nice but we need a blocking TE, and RT, OL depth and serious safety help. Plax, Holmes, Kerley, and surprisingly Turner, have been playing pretty well. I'm ok with them as our 4 WRs and we just need to bring in some depth. Although I also think McKnight should probably be used as WR as well. I think he's proven his hands are pretty good.
The TE and Safety class this draft is pretty weak and the safety problem most likely wont be solved through the draft. IMO, FA is the place to look for safety, there's about 4 safeties that could really help this defense and provide speed, youth and athleticism. A blocking TE could also be brought in too through FA like John Carlson. Im not sure if we resign Plax back, but even if we do, the Jets have to draft a WR in the top 3 rounds... McNutt would be a very nice fit in the 3rd round. RT and OLB are the top two priorities in the draft especially because of the great depth at the WR position...But if a top tier WR fell to us in the 1st, I'd be pretty excited.
this is a classic for oh so many reasons. 18 month old thread, talking about a guy whose name is misspelled, talking to a guy who has been banned for probably a year plus. joe how exactly did you come across this particular thread? search gone wrong?
