We dumped him, I doubt he wants to come back. btw, Karlos Dansby will be a FA, too, he?s a much better fit for the 34 and one of the best LBs in the League.

Regarding the Vilma deal, I thought that it is only a 2nd rounder THEN we give up our 4th rounder. If its a 3rd rounder, then we dont owe them a pick?

    Did something change up?

Nothing changed. It was always a conditional 4th round pick that could becoming a 2nd or 3rd round pick. If it becomes a 2nd or 3rd round pick we have to give the Saints our 4th round pick.

I'd say they've been doing a good job with the 1st rounders lately: D'Brick, Mangold, Keller, Revis...

    Conditional/Undetermined

Denver to New York Jets. The Denver Broncos traded an undetermined conditional selection to the New York Jets as part of the Dewayne Robertson trade.

At current state, it looks like absolutely nothing.

Philadelphia to Indianapolis. The Philadelphia Eagles traded a conditional 2009 selection to the Indianapolis Colts in return for HB/FB Luke Lawton.[7]
Atlanta to Denver. The Atlanta Falcons traded a conditional seventh-round pick to the Denver Broncos in return for CB Dominique Foxworth. The pick can increase based on playing time.[8]
New York Jets to Green Bay. The Jets traded a conditional fourth-round pick to the Green Bay Packers for QB Brett Favre. The pick becomes a third-round pick if Favre takes the majority of the team's snaps at quarterback, a second-round pick if he takes 70 percent of the snaps and the team makes the playoffs, and a first-round pick if Favre takes 80 percent of the snaps at quarterback and the Jets reach Super Bowl XLIII.[9]

New Orleans to New York Jets. The Saints traded a fourth-round pick in 2008 to the New York Jets for linebacker Jonathan Vilma. Depending on the number of defensive snaps Vilma plays, and whether or not he signs a new contract with the Saints, the Saints may owe the Jets a second-round pick in 2009.[2]

Baltimore to Tampa Bay. The Ravens traded a late round draft pick in 2009 as well as a conditional draft pick in 2010 for DL Marques Douglas.[10]
Seattle to Denver. The Seattle Seahawks traded a fifth-round draft pick in 2009 to the Denver Broncos in return for wide receiver Keary Colbert. The pick can be upgraded to a fourth-round pick in 2009 depending on Colbert's playing time with the Seahawks. [11]

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

    So the result seems like:

    1. Should Aints lose their 2nd round pick this year, Jints get 1st rounder next year.

Why is it a dumb comment, just cause the ESPN analyst has consistently said oh Vilma doesnt fit in the system. Its football, some of u guys have never played football in your life so u tend to just listen to wat other tell u and take it as gospel.MLB in a 4-3 and ILB in the 3-4 are not that different, u just need a a big ass NT who can take blockers off u, D-rob was ass, and therefore made Vilma look bad wen he tried to play the run, now that Jenkins is here he would make Vilma look like his old self. Why do u think Ray Lewis complained about being in a 3-4 , not cause he couldnt play in it its because he didnt have a great NT in front of him now he looks like his old self.

    1. I played football all the way up until college. That doesn't mean I know what I'm talking about though. This isn't high school...you can get by in the NFL with just having a huge motor and big heart. Size and speed means a lot in the pros. Vilma's got the quicks, but he isn't big enough to be at his best in the 3-4. I'm sure he can play in it, but he won't be nearly as effective...

    2. Learn how to spell, space, and read.

    3. Ray Lewis was held back in the 3-4 mainly because of injuries. Ngata and Gregg were very solid in the Ravens' old defensive system. Ray Lewis just likes to run his mouth...at least he backs it up.

    4. Vilma won't ever come back here. It's a pipe dream. He doesn't fit in our system. Look at the success he's having in New Orleans. If he doesn't stay there, I could see him ending up in Tampa or Indianapolis. A Cover 2 4-3 defense is where Vilma belongs.

Does 10 pounds really make that much of a difference Donnie Edwards 225 played ILB in a 34, Jerod Mayo 240 plays ILB in a 34,Zach Thomas who is 5'11 228 plays in a 34 the whole argument that u he play in a 34 in bullshit.
Yes i understand his effectiveness wont be the same but he can still be a force if he had somebody like Jenkins in front of him.

The whole thing about Ray Lewis just running his mouth, ummh i rather take his opinion on playing football than yours, if Ray said that having a dominate NT can allow u to do more things than im gonna buy that.I mean look how he is playing now,Kelly Gregg was good but he isnt the same player Ngata is ,who ever since has been switched from end to tackle, has allowed ray to return to a dominate ILB again.

I can give a fuck about Vilma coming back , all im saying is that he can play in a 3-4 if he had the right parts around him.Oh yeah and my spelling this is a message board i type how i text, so fuk u

    ooppss i mispelled dat
