So far, the rumors have said trade up with Houston, N.O., and then it's we want Cutler, then Leinart..... all smoke and mirrors. makes for intersting guesswork, though.
I 'd have to disagree, it's about 50/50. I wouldn't exactly call Brad Johnson, Kurt Warner or Trent Dilfer superstars.
Agreed. But in the same breathe - an elite QB is not the only surefire guarentee of a Superbowl. I'd probably be more inclined to think that an elite D with a solid running game seems to be as successful, if not more(Sorry Peyton - it is what it is!)
if we move up to number one and pass on bush that'll be a passing up a player that comes around once in a life lifetime
If we draft Reggie Bush and plug in some Beef on the OLine, I believe an 8-8 season would be a very realistic goal. Rebuilding would be accelerated forward exponentially. Bush is just that good. Anyone who says otherwise just enjoys making picks that go against the grain.
As we speak we need a qb not a running back.Martin,Houston,Blaylock,Askew, all serviceable and all healthy.Quaterback is the pick at #1.Reggie Bush is that good BUT we need a QB!
Because the Texans are reportedly shopping their pick, and if you trade for the #2 to get Leinart and then the Texans trade their pick to a team that wants to leapfrog you for Leinart, you will end up looking pretty dumb. Not that I want anything to do with Leinart.
If we need a QB that bad - use our 2-3rd rounder. Trade for a stop gap. Sign a free agent. Just don't pass on Bush.
Can't argue with that logic. Seriously, though, we can't move into that spot to draft Reggie Bush. It makes no sense whatsoever to do that. If they are moving up to the #1 spot it is for Leinart, and that is the only pick that would make that move acceptable. I'm not thrilled with it, but I could live with it. Leinart should make an excellent NFL QB, and is a guy the Jets could build around nicely. There are so many quality running backs available in thei draft that anyone who trades up for one should be thrown off the roof of the closest skyscraper.
