That's a good point. It seems as if the FO is creating an environment in which playmakers could come in and succeed. Secure the O-Line, then bring in a QB and RB so that they can thrive in those conditions. We don't want to follow the Texans route, and completely destroy a big first-round investment at QB with a horrid line.

I respect your opinion, but if you truly feel this way then why are you a Jet fan? They are rebuilding, it can be painful yes, but we must be patient. O-Line, then playmakers, we are headed in the right direction.

you're wrong. Joe Blow who doesn't know $*^% about football wants glamour positions (like QB). Football is won and lost in the trenches. We solidified our team for a long time with two great picks and a great trade.

No it doesnt, but theres a smaller chance to find one at pick 52 as opposed to 35 (when theres players who were projected to go first round)

the point is Dawg.. nobody knows if pick 4 will be more successful than pick # 64... until they hit the field on Sundays. That being the case, until I see the Jets FO reaching deep into the 4th rnd talent while picking in the 2nd... I will give them the benefit of the doubt. I think they know what they are doing.

Still seems to me like your not a fan. Fans stick through the team through thick and thin. Put Leinart in before the O-line we had prior to the draft, guarentee you we have a broken over-paid QB. Just because a car is shiny on the outside doesnt mean the engine isnt shot to shit. Fix your team for the long haul then worry about poster boys.

If its that much of a problem for you, go throw on a blue Manning jersey

Thank you! The only reason Peyton is as successful as he is is because he has a dominant o-line.

it is great that you have stuck with it this long. But why the doom and gloom approach today when a new regime has only selected 2 players at need positions?? They are obviously working from a blueprint. Would it not be prudent to wait and see the entire plan before the self induced stroke??

Yea, we are on the same page here. Good analogy on the Texans, that did not cross my mind, but fits the bill. I am very happy thus far with our moves.
    L. White at 35 would have been nice, but the Jets just traded up to 49, so lets see.

We got the two best players at there positions in the draft to help solidify our biggest weakness. Yeah you can take linemen later in the draft, you can take any position later in the draft, the obvious difference is you're getting the BETTER player earlier in the draft. Yes there are plent of exceptions to this at EVERY position.

Football games are won in the trenches, like it or not. If you've ever played organized football you'd realize this. It's obvious that the front office is trying to build a powerhouse offensive line so that we can dominate the line of scrimmage, and impose our will on the opposition.

You want someone you can watch highlights of on sportscenter and buy their replica jersey. Ask the best runningbacks and qb's in the league who is responsible for a lot of there success and they'll tell you the offensive line. Offensive linemen don't make sportcenter highlights, but they allow the highlights to happen.

Alan Faneca was picked by Pittsburgh in the first round (26th overall) in the 1998 NFL Draft. He has been a starter at left guard since almost halfway through his rookie year, and was selected to the Pro Bowl every season since 2001.

During Super Bowl XL, Faneca is credited with throwing the key block that sprung Running Back Willie Parker en route to a Super Bowl record 75-yard touchdown run that opened a 14-3 Steelers lead on the second play of the third quarter.

Kendall Simmons was drafted #30 in the first round in 2002. Started all 16 games for the Steelers last season.

    Any response to THAT?

Although that's not the hardest thing to do with that poster, if you know his history.
