Plank was my favorite player as a kid. He was just ferocious as a Safety. Even in the 1970's, an era with fewer penalties and lots of big hitters, Plank stood out as a guy who could deliver a punishing blow. He should definitely add some toughness to this defense. Great hire!

If we're to believe that Mangini was handcuffing Schott then apparently he has no problem doing what he's told.

Maybe we can get him to play safety opposite Rhodes.

I love the Plank hiring. The more he starts building a competent staff and starts shaping that defense, the more Ryan will probably win me over. We really have to put something together on offense, though. If we start running some 46 sets, that will be fun to watch. We would definitely have to pick up another excellent corner, though. I have no doubt Revis can lock down one side in that defense, but we need another very solid corner on the other side.

I like this pick up. Fencik and Plank were two of the hardest hitting safties in football history. I rmember one quote from Plank the Bears were losing bad and he went into the huddle and said let just hit somebody. I like the mentality being assembled. Don Maynard had a major problem with Mangini not having any ex pro football players on his staff. So far we have Ellard, Lynn, Plank.
