I'm writing Haikus and sending them to the NFL office. I encourage everyone to do the same. Jets touchdown was clear Your referees today sucked I'll blow up your house
Unfortunately, even an apology from the NFL will not change our record. The officials blew it and should be fired. We deserved the chance to decide the game in overtime. Unfortunately, we have 2 very tough games after our bye week and now could be staring 4-6 straight in the face. Yuk!
What really disgusts me about this is other people are agreeing the call. "Oh yeah, he wouldve gone outta bounds" or "Thats a good call by the refs" are all im hearing from other guys. I admit whenever a bad call/missed call goes our way. Plenty of times i said "They couldve called holding on us" or "We got away with pass interference, but oh well" and many other things they couldve called on us. My point is i acknowledge a bad call no matter if it favors us or not. It gets on my nerves when other non-jet fans (browns fans in this case) are in denial and refuse to admit a mistake by the refs.
Yeah, we were robbed. But calls can go either way, and they do. You just remember the ones that go against you more. Bring on the Pasties....
I cant wait for my apology from the NFL tomorrow....I hope Im not at lunch or doing some work or something.Hopefully my secretary wont put the NFL into my voicemail...guys please....call on the field=horseshit....letters to NFL= super hero gay.....and as far as jets kickass goes......wow
Aaahhh, the game was bagged. The league does not review judgment calls because of two reasons: 1) It provides the refs with more "control" of the game 2) It makes the refs look less competent than they actually are (if that's possible) As for this ref being fired, he will probably be rewarded with a Super Bowl assignment. Have we already forgotten the garbage one sided officiating in last year's Super Bowl that gift wrapped the trophy for Pittsburgh? Writing to the NFL is a waste of time. They can care less about the fans' concerns with regards to the epidemic of "suspect" officiating within the sport. Since the refs are given the tools to decide the outcome of games, that's exactly what they do - under the perfectly fabricated cover of "judgment calls", of course.
Dammit. I read through 5 pages of this thread and the last post is exactly what I was going to say. The problem here is that there is no 100% positive proof that Baker comes down inbounds. Do we all think he would have? Yes otherwise there wouldn't be 10 threads on it but the unforunate thing is we don't know for sure. The real problem on the play is that the official with the best vantage point was over-ruled. That is what the most disgusting thing about this snafu is. The guy who said he was pushed out was over-ruled by some 70 year old bastard that makes a living defending murderers or filing tax returns. If you really wanna make a stink call up your local sports radio shows and start talking conspiracy or fix, then ask the host to explain the tuck rule which conviently was a one time rule that has been thrown back to bottom of the NFL Rulebook.
Exaclty....Paul Allen and his Money Bag Billions aren't held in as high esteem as the Rooney Family. Notice any calls ever going against Dallas or New England either???
Oddly enough I'm not as angry as I thought I'd be over that call. Sure, the refs cost us the game completely, but its the NFL's own stupid rule that those plays can't be reviewed thats the real issue.
